  • Thanks Northern lass, I haven't actually done other diets before. I think it just comes from how I actually feel after I've eaten something. If I eat enough to make me feel full, I feel as though I've eaten too much - that's why I hardly have any green days either - just because having a big bowl of pasta or whatever can make you feel really bagged up! I think I'll do what Marion does, and sit down and make a proper plan every night, and factor in a few more syns along the way. O only ever hazard a guess at syns, and try to keep it to even about 3/4 per day.

In the end I usually end up sabotaging myself because I get so hungry that I end it eating things I shouldn't!!

Anyway, thanks for the words of encouragement northernlass - I'll try grt myself on track for tomorrow, and see if I can't maybe shify another lb or 2 by next WI!

    xx
Hey CWM - big hug for you.
I'm probably not the right person to say this (I have tons of food issues too), but I "force" myself to alow for a syn treat every day, eg I keep Lidl own mini milky way in my freezer (2 syns each), I allow for two.
I always have a free breakfast. Yogurt or fromage frais (latter is more filling) with sweetner & as much fruit as I can fit in. Lidl do cheapest natural yogurt (0.1%, 500g, 49p), I get 12 at a time. Then I can snack freely. I sometime prepare a few at a time & you can keep them in any handy fridge (work). I've started to drink sugar free squash too. Fruity, "sugary", goodness, in a pint glass. Keeps me full. Lunch & dinner depends on which day I'm on.
I leave all my syns till the evenings, as I find that is when I struggle the most, this means I know I have a lot of leeway. Filling free dinner. then I can choose vino or chocolate (occasionally both).
Believe it or not my kids are in charge of the sweetie/chocolate cupboard, so keep an eye on me!

No syns today as I sabatoged myself last night and had 40 syns:eek: worth of Galaxy chocolate:eek::o I won't miss the syns at all as I normally have to imake a point of adding syns to my plan. I eat enough of the free foods that I never really get the "munchies" but the call of the chocolate overpowered me last night:o:p!

I feel lucky that I have such expensive taste in chocolate. None of your bog standard shop stuff will do. Thats why the stuff in the freezer has been there since June!

I tried a choc quark dip and a stilton dip as recommended by our new consultant.

Stilton dip was lovely, I used the stilton as a HEA and dipped in carrot sticks and cucumber.

Chocolate quark dip was a bit wierd, used chocolate options to flavour it but it tasted a bit chocolate cheesecakey, still OK though. Definitely not up to galaxy standard:D

Another good day for me today:A

And I have Morrissey tickets so I am living on love at the moment:cool:
But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.

I'm glad you got your tickets lou.
I find that quark has such a definate taste of it's own you need to be selective what you put with it. Chocolate doesn't always work, I do a lot of baking and when I make a chocolate cheesecake I have to use a good dark (75%) chocolate. Citrus and vanilla go well. My Oma (grandmother) always used to put vanilla & fresh fruit into a tub of quark for a quick refreshing pud.

Mmm I have some lemons and vanilla extract, might go better than the choc options.

Still doing OK and managing to stick to the plan. Gilrs night out tonight and I will be drinking JD and diet coke which I have saved some syns for. Definitely avioding the chippy though:rolleyes:

Going to do what I did last time and have something to heat up in the microwave when I [STRIKE]roll [/STRIKE]get in:D

Off to make a shopping list of all things I need for next week.

Quorn, quorn, pasta, rice, more quorn:rotfl:

Thanks rugbymum - all good suggestions worth trying! :D I think I really just need to be more organised and stop waiting 'til I'm hungry to try and decide what to eat!! ;)

Are you getting married? When's the big day? It must be good to have such a great incentive!!

Do most of you use just the plan to try and manage your weight loss? Or do you try and fit in some exercise as well?

    xx

    Hiya everyone,
had a bit of an on off week, yesterday i wasnt hungry for much of the day but come tea time i was ravenous and couldnt stop eating. Today i've hardly eaten again. I know what you mean cwm, sometimes i leave it till i'm really hungry before i even think about what i'm going to have n then i end up eating all the wrong foods. I've noticed since i've started doing sw again that one week i dont have an appetite but the next week you cant fill me:confused:, batch cooking has definately helped me with both problems buts as i currently feel like s**t i've done no batch cooking and have nowt left in the freezer so i'm dreading the next few days. I've got a few syn free yogs in but i really cant face eating anything like that at the moment. Any suggestions for quick, easy on the stomach snacks thats either syn free or hea/b other than ryvita and toast - im sick of eating them:rolleyes:

Following last weeks works Christmas party where I far too much wine _pale_ and chocolate fudge cake for pudding, I some how managed to stay the same this week :j.

No idea how I managed that, the only think I can think helped was eating a lot of speed foods - lentil curry, veg chilli, baked beans etc

Not too sure how I'm going to fare this week as it is the departmental lunch this week  but I am planning on not drinking ( that will save a few syns ) as I really don't know if I can face booze before Christmas and to eat I'm planning on having the veggie options, mushrooms on toast and butternut squash risotto, so hopefully that shouldn't be too many syns.
