Hello everybody,
This looks like a really friendly group so im going to try and post each day and hopefully get myself back on track with Slimming World. I reached target in ~2006 but in the last year Ive put on half the weight i lost! argh!
I have cut out and kept all the recipes from about 2years worth of SW mags so I dont mind posting any gradually, or if people are after something specific I can have a look though for you.
Is there a thread anywhere which links to all the SW recipes on MSE?
Had a lovely lunch last week which was free on green (aslong as you count the cheese as HE) so here it is incase anybody would like a change for their packed lunch.
Adapted from the 7day meal planner recipe from the recent SW mag.
Mushroom melts
1. Take 1 lagre mushroom, remove the stalk and place in oven for 10mins, leave to cool on tissue paper to absorb juices)
2. Mix together 1 cup cous cous with enough boiling water to cover 1/4" over top of cous cous & crumble in a veg stock cube, season. Place a lid on the cous cous and leave to rest for 10mins.
3. finely chop 1 red onion, slice and dice 1 pepper (could could add any veg you have ie: glated carrot, chopped cucumber, sliced spring onions...)
4. Add onion & pepper to cous cous (could could also add handfull of raisons but not sure on syns???)
5. Spray some fry light into the cous cous and add a dash of balsamic/white wine vinegar and stir with a fork to separate grains. Season to taste.
6. Fill each mushroom with the cous cous mix and compact.
7. Lay light motzerella slices over top of cous cous.
8. Place under a hot grill until cheese bubbles.
Can be eaten hot/cold. delicious as packed lunch, feels like your spoiling yourself! Sounds like alot of steps but I usually prepare when im cooking dinner night before, so the mushrooms can go in oven with dinner to cook, and im alreay chopping up veg, so takes little effort.
There is usually cous cous mix left over, so save this to have the next day. Mix in some chickpeas and have with a pitta bread. Mix up a dressing by mixing 3tbsp of low fat nat yog with 1 tsp mint sauce (syns??)
Im unsure of the syns for this so would be grateful is anybody can help!?
Looking forward to hopefully becoming part of the red/green support group!

I thought about trying a Mix2 Max or whatever it's called. I might go back over the thread to refresh myself how it works.Mix2Max
STEP 1:
Choose a Green or Original Meal and stick to your choice while enjoying that meal.
Have up to three meals a day.
Step 2:
Focus on Free Food. Enjoy as much Free Food as you like, either Green or Original from the choice that you have made for that meal.
Step 3:
Choose three or four Healthy Extras each day from either the Green or Original choices to have with meals or as snacks.
Step 4:
For other snacks throughout the day, or for starters or desserts, choose Superfree Foods or count them as syns.
Step 5:
Enjoy Five to 15 Syns per day
If your main course contains any syns then count the syn values appropriate to the Green or Original Choice you are following for that meal.
Note:
On a Mix2Max day everything that you eat apart from your main courses, that is not a Super-free food or a Healthy Extra has syns and you must take the highest syn value whether it is green or original.I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -

Crunchy Nut Cornflakes are 5½ syns for 28gms which is fine since you don't appear to be having any other syns.
The chicken can be counted as a HEB (depending on the weight of course). You haven't mentioned how much milk you use during the day but you're allowed 350mls skimmed or 250mls semi-skimmed.
What about your fruit and veg and the other HEB?I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -

Virtually fat free natural yogurt is syn free, as is mint sauce as long as you dont add any sugar0 -
Will you allow me to rejoin you ?
I have had a 2 week break, and been very synful indeed, but I need to get back to it, if you'll have me
Not sure what damage has been done weight wise, I'll check in the morningIs it better to aim for the stars and hit a tree or aim for a tree and land in its branches :think:Loves being a Wonderbra friend :kisses3:
