I've got a polti and it is great.. its just the hassle of dragging it around so I tend to use it for a good steam clean rather than just doing bits and bobs with it.
I wouldnt say it brings carpets up like new but I used mine on a house I rent out and was able to bring the carpet up nice enough to be fine for a new tenant. In that respect it paid for itself as I managed to go another year without replacing the carpets.
I also bought one of those teeny hand held things but didnt like it very much. I would go for a better one if I were you.
I also used to use mine for doing the windows but now find it easier to just go over them with a microfibre cloth.
I've got the iron attachment which is brill too!0 -
I longed for a Polti about 6-7 years ago when I first wanted a steam cleaner - I'm still longing:rolleyes:
Couldn't afford one though, so I settled for a Morphy Richards Grime Buster for about 1/2 the price, and it served me well until a few months back, when the fitting for the hose broke. I soon replaced it though, as I can't imagine not having one around now. Great for cleaning floors, pet housing, defrosting the chest freezer, grime on cooker tops....the list goes on:D0 -
I looked it up. This looks tempting, and at a good price:-

I was thinking about getting this Lidl steam cleaner which is available from today. Is it any good? ISTR that people in here were suggesting that buying cheap machines is not a good idea. I'm thinking that it would be useful to clean our kitchen with, but would use it all over.

I bought one from aldi 2 years ago. It is excellent and very powerful. It is especially useful around the bathroom and shower tray area. Gets rid of any lurking nasties down the plughole0

I haven't got one of those (mine's a VAX), but it's got a really nice big tank. You'd be able to clean loads with just one tank. Mine's a 1.5ltr tank, and I'm happy enough with it, as it does what I need at the time. Would be temped to buy that one myself though if I hadn't recently purchased a new one:D0
