I feel a right idiot now , i think the confusion arose as both hubby and i were getting separate phonecalls and not alawys able to communicate there and then due to jobs!!
can i still claim?
Yeah sure you can still claim. You have done the right thing sending a letter but perhaps could have sent it to this addy above. Did you realise the TRUE cost of the PPI and that it was actually a loan on top of a loan??
You have been missold like all of us so do not give up. We will all help!!0 -

And don't feel like a right idiot. I too was adamant that FIrst Plus sold me my PPI when in fact they told me it was company from Gibraltar:eek: . I still am not 100% certain who actually sold it but I am having them for the unfair rebate i received on settling the loan early. They are cons and cheats so please do not give up. You will have to wait now for Centrals reply to your letter and take it from there. You have a very good chance of getting your money back so please do not let them win. Your loan and PPI were in 2006 so they had rules to follow on the sales and most complaints that go the FOS are upheld for these policies.0 -

Hi there Caroline.
There is no need to feel like an idiot hun these advisers tend to have a way to manage to suck us in, but at least now like us all here you are doing something about it.;)
You have learnt like we have and we have all been there.
Its get them back time !!!:D
So yes still reclaim, its your money - now go and get it back.
Marshallka has given you some very good advice here hunni, go for it.
Good luck, and please keep us posted and don't let any stupid response you may get from them put you off, it may be a battle, but keep at it and you will eventually get there and get stronger on this.;)

You did not know how these policies actually work. They are loans on top of loans really. You have now done the misselling letter which i will look at in a min. If you did stop i note you say that you would stop paying the £65 per month for it but it does not work like that. You took a loan to pay this policy up front so cancelling only brings you a small amount back and you actually carry on paying the interest. I hope you understand this.
aaaaaahhhhhhhhh! that explains alot you me!!!
i'm off to write to halifax. thanks mac0 -

Automatic payback for anyone making a claim regardless of dates. they were wrong to have been sold to people and have ruined so many lifes and left us with lifelong debt problems.
Added up my PPI since 1997 and it seems we have paid over £20K in it. Where would we be now if we had not had it. Its been nothing but a struggle ever since.
We were induced to more debt needlessly when it was only sold purely for the profits of the banks and certainly not for the interest of the consumer which is what we put trust in the banks doing. Looking after our finances. (never again!!!!!) I think we will all end up putting our money under the mattress again soon.0
