So is my complaint now with the broker Central Capital Limited and not Paragon? Do I send the same miselling letter I sent to Paragon?

In the letter Paragon sent they say that even though I've settled the figure I now still have the insurance unless I cancel it. Should I now cancel the insurance with Paragon and accept a rebate on the premium or does this prejudice me in my claim?

    Thanks for the help
Even if you cancel the PPI i very much doubt you will get much of a rebate back. You do need to send the same letter to Central now to whatever addy they have given you. I posted the one from the FSA register above. Is that the one?? If it is send it there and give them 8 weeks for a full and final response. It will be worth it in the end.

    Hi All

I posted about a week ago now asking for advice with my Barclays loan and Egg card PPI claim, I have since received a letter from Barclays telling me that they will refund the PPI insurance back on to the loan as well as the interest that I have paid on it, they are also credit ting my current account with the 8% interest that I have lost out on, so as you can imagine I am very pleased.

The problem I have now is with Egg I have just received my second letter which says…..

I can confirm that card repayment protection was not pre-selected at the time of your application. I am happy to look into this for you if you can provide information to support this claim.

I can also confirm that a signature is not required under any regulation and this was the case at the time of your application.

If you are able to provide any further information which would impact the decision made I will be happy to look into this further for you. Up until any information is receive, your complaint will remain closed.

I just don’t know where to go from here apart from the financial ombudsman, the really funny thing I never ticked the box to accept PPI insurance I just did not need it, but they are adamant that I selected it, do I still have any leg to stand on. The Egg card was taken out on the 16th march 2000

    Chris
Hi I have claimed against Egg from loan taken out in 2004 at that time it was standard with them to force PPI onto you or they wouldn't allow loan .I was quite specific about this condition being forced on me when i tailored the reclaiming template on here.Think back did they have same convo with you ?Hope this has helped .Keep at it this was my 1st claim and have had success within 2 weeks albeit that they credited refund against my live loan account  lol

been away for a couple of days, been at my boyfriends - he's a single parent with twin boys, he's a fab dad but struggles to work full time and with keeping the house neat - I went over to look after the boys and cleaned his house from top to bottom - all three of them kept asking where things were - all I kept saying is 'have you looked in the cupboard / wardrobe / drawers !! I'm exhausted - glad to be back at work !!!!
It is hard work being a single parent and working full time. I did it with my son and was alone for 6 years:eek: . No time for men;) My house was not the tidiest and my meals were not the best but we got by. Its like that now but I am married again, at home but on this blummin site all day.

be careful the mint offer isn't in 'full and final settlement' if it is and you accept you won't be able to take them to court to get the remainder

No the letter says if there is a problem to get back to them and gave me the date I could go to the FOS but would rather we sorted it out between us before then.
So I accepted as partial settlement asked for remaninder in 7 days or will return cheque and go to court for full amount plus interest.

Here we go again 2nd attempt
    I claimed back against egg.
Success got letter back saying they were refunding m e, however as the loan is still active they have paid the money into my loan account , reduced my term by approx 1 year but my payments remain the same.I did not want my repayment this way but wanted it back in cash/cheque/or into my current account.I rang egg to discuss this and was told it was company policy and i had agreed to this under terms and conditions when i took out the loan.I pointed out that could not be the case as a term and condition of this nature implied that they knew it was an illegal action to force insurance on me and the resulting action should i claim would be what they have applied. The lady i spoke with then informed me she did not have the authority to alter her companies policy i asked could she pas sm eon to someone who could escalte my claim , 2 minutes later she came back and had spoken to a team leadre " on his way to a meeting" who dismissed my query and again stated she had followed company policy. I was wandering has someone else had the same problem with having refund paid into loan ?.Can Egg do this ? Any ideas folks? Obviously I am about to take claim to ombudsman but would like feedback
    Thanks
    Next installment with egg
finally got letter back stating "Please find the paragraph below which has been authorised by an adjudicator in the Financial Ombudsman Service in relation to how banks calculate refunds.
"Basically if a customer owes money to the bank the bank can deduct the amount the customer owes from the amount it owes to the customer. It usually does this by transferring money held to the credit of one of the customers other accounts,( my loan is still active by the way).
It is Eggs business policy to refund amounts of insurance directly to the outstanding debt to reduce the principle balance.........
So they get away with not refunding in cash it seems althought they illegally applied ppi on me  .Is this worth pursuing further?
 Can some one check the figures applied to refund for me
    Principal Loan £5000.00
    Loan payment protection £880.50
84 monthly installments of £90.68 taken out in may 2004
Refund..........£1,161.33 made up of £880.50 full insurance premium and £208.83 interest on this amount whilst it has been on the loan calculated at a rate of 7.9%
After all this it has reduced my loan term by about a year but my payments remain the same
What do i do next if anything would like to hear any ideas you have
    Thanks in advance Bezntom

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
I've amended my complaint to the FOS about Sainsburys to now include:

    1 - Mis-sold PPI;
    2 - Failure to supply a CCA with the necessary terms and condition;
3 - Continue to add interest, charges and send information about this account to 3rd parties while in dispute and failing to provide a CCA.
Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!
