I am trying to get is the extra back from the PPI which we paid back early and were charged the full policy for. Single Premuim policy.

The whole amount we paid back was £1250.00, but we only had the loan 12 months before we paid it back in full. So we are wanting a partial refund for the £1250.00 PPI minus the 12 months of the policy that we actually had.

Am I going in the wrong direction here? I am confused now. sorry.

I have emailed, but not got a read receipt yet. Simone
So did you have two loans and one was to pay for the other like a top up??

Can you post details of the actual loan/loans? so i can look at the figures. If these were single premium polices then it would be the whole amount back and the interest too. ALso put the dates - thanks - don't worry we will sort this.

If it was missold and you and you only had the one loan then you need to just ask for the whole amount back and the interest charged on top of this for the full term of the loan. I think i am getting you now but you have probably worded it wrong.
  • Hi,

We only had one loan and the PPI was incoperated into this. The loan was all dealt with by Freedom finance but they chose Paragon for the money and Bespoke for the PPI.

When we paid it back we sent the whole amount to paragaon, and they forwarded on the PPI monies to Bespoke.

The loan was for £10,000.00 and we paid back £11500.00 to paragaon.

I know its difficult to get my head round, but I only had one loan, but the money came from one place and the PPI for the loan from another.

    PPI - Bespoke
    Loan - Paragon
    Agent - Freedom finance

All we want to claim if the money for the PPI once the loan had been paid off early. should still be contacting Bespoke? Sorry for the confusion.

Let me explain how these companies work. Firstly you were sold the loan and PPI by Bespoke who assumed the role as the "brokers". Although you had dealings with Freedom they only processed this loan and PPI for Bespoke and Paragon were your lenders.

As you had a single premium policy and you say it was missold to you then you need to write and say it was "missold". Nothing about the rebate as when you state missold you are wanting back all the PPI of £1500 and interest that was charged on the PPI for the full term of the loan and also statutory interest too.

You have actually made it sound like you are unhappy with the rebate here. You have stated that you want it back for the 9 years and not the full 10 years and that you are happy to pay for the one year that you had the loan. Missold in the first place means not happy with any of it.

I would wait to see what evolves from your email now and then next time you write let us try to help with the wording a little more.

Its because you have little understanding of what a single premium policy actually is.

Lets say you had this loan of £10000 and then were charged £1500 PPI. Your actual loan that you would be paying interest on for the full term is £11500 and when you calculate what the policy actual cost you in the long run you will see just how much you were done out of. Your PPI is actually a loan on top of a loan. You would then have made repayments against this figure and the settlement figure that they gave you should have included a small rebate against the PPI. What you probably did not realise is that with your PPI being another loan you would have been charged interest on this just like your original £10K.

When they calculated the settlement figure what did you get back as a rebate against the PPI that you paid. (forget about the interest for min). What was your breakdown of the settlement figure??? How many months had you actual paid and what were the repayments etc. We need all the details here.

You need to be put back into the position as if you never had the PPI at all for misselling.
  • Its getting a little clearer now!
I am not sure of the breakdown of the settlement figure, will need to ask freedoom about that.
thanks for this, will get in touch with freedom for the full breakdown and get back to you. Simone

Simone, make a complaint to the OFT about Bespoke if you can as they need more people to complain about this firm. Head it about the two, Freedom and Bespoke and about misleading people into belieiving they are actually dealing with a UK firm and then finding out that they have actually been sold the loan and PPI by a company in GIB. Also state that if you wanted to take this company to court here in the UK you could but if you won and then they decided not to pay up UK baliffs have no jurisdiction in GIB so you have no way of enforcing it. Its very unfair practice and you have not got any statutory rights or they have been cut.
