  • Hi all need a little help

Took out a loan with BOS 2001, for £1500 PPI was £600 over 60 months
Started my claim in April 2008, took it to the FOS in June with a fast trak claim considered in July
I telephoned in early September as I had not heard any thing in two months

Last week got an offer letter, I posted and

They will calculate what I should have paid if the PPI had not been paid
----They are giving back the PPI fees penalties and interest plus 8 % and
will redue the loan if it's still in debt

My questions are can I ask for figures before I accept.
Can I get the refund via cheque and then pay the loan off my self.

Or as it's a goodwill gesture, take what I am offered and not push my luck

You definately need a breakdown of the figure and also get it posted on the reclaiming discussion thread so someone can check before accepting it.

How can you accept an amount when you don't know what you are accepting.

So to update I contacted FOS to ask them to ask for a breakdown of what I might get, how the delay had led to financial hardship, effected credit rating, none payment of bills etc.
FOS contacted me today to say that BOS don't have to give a breakdown before I accept, they have put their hands up and pretty much to just accept it, I know these guys are working really hard with all these claims
The tone of the call was just sign the form, I feels like nothing else was considered.

Can I write any thing on the acceptance form, to say how I want the money left over paid to me, or should I just accept whats offered and move on.

I would write on the form that you want the money paid to you and that you are experiencing difficulties and need it. I do not know why the FOS are actually asking you to sign something that you do not know what you are signing for. Its riduculous.

If you are signing for the things above then you need to first sign and then when you get the amounts etc post them on here for someone to take a look. You can always go back to the FOS then.
  • emailed the below, is this ok?:

    Dear Mr Farr,

I am writing with reference to payment protection insurance I feel was incorrectly administered by Bespoke finance (formally Karacus).

I have now attempted to contact your company in writing three times, but have yet to receive an acknowledgement of any of my correspondence.

I have written confirmation from Freedom Finance that they forwarded my initial complaint to you on 14.08.08, and I have written a further two letters on 10.09.08 and 23.09.08 asking for you to deal with this matter. I have received no communication from yourselves what so ever.

I have also contacted the FSC via email in order to register my complaint with them and also bring to their attention your lack of communication.

I would be grateful if you would respond to my original complaint with regards to the single premium policy which was repaid early but taken as a whole payment for the full term of the loan (10 years).

I feel that we should be entitled to a partial refund as we paid back the loan early and were changed PPI for the whole term of the loan. My account number with freedom finance was : ******* and my complaint reference with them is : ******.

I have no recollection of being informed that Bespoke finance (formally Karacus) administered the PPI for this loan and therefore have no account number for yourselves. I sent my final payment to clear the loan to Paragon Fiance and was led to believe they were the administrators of the loan package.

When the loan was taken I lived at ***********,***********. I hope this assists you in locating my account.

As I am aware that you hold a consumer credit licence here in the UK should you continue to ignore my correspondence I will have no option but to make a complaint to the OFT about your fitness to hold a licence.

In summary, I feel that I am not being treated fairly by Bespoke and that the PPI policy was miss-sold and therefore I am requesting a refund.

As I have written 3 times and have been attempting to resolve this issued since 04.08.08 I am now giving you 14 days for a final response, before I take this matter further.

    Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

    Kind Regards,

    Kind Regards,
If your complaint is about misselling then its Freedom/Bespoke you need to take this matter to - however, you have stated about a partial refund on this and this is not to do with the sale of the PPI and therefore needs to be addressed to the lender who was paragon.

I thought your complaint was about misselling here:confused:

Please confirm that this about an unfair rebate!!!!!!!!!!

The letter is confusing.. You are asking for a partial refund and then state misselling. Have you actually emailed them this..

Yes I must agree with you, just been reading it though again and I would definately do this.
With not knowing what your signing for........that is pathetic !!!

  • I am trying to get is the extra back from the PPI which we paid back early and were charged the full policy for. Single Premuim policy.

The whole amount we paid back was £1250.00, but we only had the loan 12 months before we paid it back in full. So we are wanting a partial refund for the £1250.00 PPI minus the 12 months of the policy that we actually had.

Am I going in the wrong direction here? I am confused now. sorry.

I have emailed, but not got a read receipt yet. Simone
