After I have cleaned around the house, I am going to sort out what claims I have to get on with, .

Like you all here there is paperwork everywhere, SAR's from different finance firms, you name it just stacks of it.

Going through some of it last night, I again come across some of the comments made by Nemo when we were telling them on the loan advance that we will arrange a stand alone cover elsewhere, where they did not allow us to do..... , the comments said "Mr & Mrs XXXX tried to cancel the ppi, I managed to talk them out of it" , and lots of other silly comments on the paperwork too.

I know our Laini will win her claim against these and she has also admitted they are not as easy as it was with her other complaint - FP I believe, but Laini has solid ground here and she will get through this.;)

I added those figures on here last night again..... , and it all comes down to how they have calculated the rebate, it all adds up to that of the amount of the PPI, and shows the amounts separately such as so much of it went on the LASU commission and so on minus the cancellation amount.
    Think that is right anyway......
You need a breakdown of that 3K figure for settlement..

    Cheers hun.;)

I am being dizzy here again now hun, but when calculating for rebate are they supposed to use both the loan and ppi to do this? because the bit I added above that was calculated was just that of the ppi and not the loan  .

When they calculate the rebate they use the total loan and the loan included a PPI as the PPI was in fact another loan.

You borrowed 43K and PPI was £8K then you paid for 9 months and then settled at £43000 again.

    43000 Loan
    8492 PPI
    51492 Loan total

    repayments 9 x 370.53 = 3334.77 which included PPI as well

    Remaining £48157 + interest
    Settled 43559.29

    LOAN 17000
    PPI 4163
    TOTAL LOAN 21163
    22 X 281.25 6187.50
    Remaing after £14975 + interest

    TOTAL REMAINING UNDER AGREEMENT 36855.01
LESS REBATE FOR EARLY SETTLEMENT 15997.33
    ADMIN CHARGE 30
    TOTAL PAYABLE 20887.68

(THIS was our settlement after 22 months and check this against what we borrowed and then check what yours is like)

Look at our settlement after paying 22 months and its more than the orginal loan of £17K and look at yours and its only the £43K that you borrowed. On ours there was no rebate of PPI unlike yours. (we only actually borrowed 17K and would have repaid near on £21K - you borrowed £43K and then paid back £43K. We were charged the PPI in full nearly.

    Thanks hun.

It think its the fact that the paperwork I added last thing last night only mentioned the PPI in the calculation and not that of the loan.

Such as PPI SINGLE POLICY THE AMOUNT OF THAT AND THE CALCULATIONS, BUT THAT ACTUAL PAPERWORK MENTIONED NOTHING ABOUT THE LOAN AMOUNT OF £43k IN THAT.

    Only PPI £8492.50

(on that sheet nothing at all was mentioned of the loan) when they calculated this.
The loan and ppi was only shown on the breakdown calculation sheet that I first added here last night.

I do know what your stating though.

And even though it should have been £43 they have it as more as you know to carry over to the new loan where we have also lost out on almost £500 here too......

Its not similar though as they charged us the PPI and did not repay it to us and we still owed more than we borrowed by a few k and yours was not.

we borrowed £17000 and would have repaid after 22 months £21000
you borrowed £43000 and repaid to them £43000 after 9 months.
