Yep just had another look now.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Di, i made a mistake - that was after repayment of 22months and not 10 so you can see why i was mad.
We repaid to them £6187.50 of the £21463 (which included PPI) and then would have had to settle with them £20900 as well. This meant that nothing had come off our loan of £17K at all in 22 months and we still have an extra £3900 to pay as well.
You borrowed £51492 and repaid to them 3334.77 and then settled at £43559.
We borrowed £21163 and repaid to them 6187.50 and then settled at £20887 (if we took that settlement - you should see the next one after another 10 months)
We eventually settled after repaying them another 18 month and making payments of 5062.50 and then settled £20410 which meant that between the two settlements we had made another 18 months worth of payments and then only reduced out loan by £477.0 -

Telling me, that is absurd and something not right about that...... .
Crikey you have a claim and a half here hun.
Wonder if these are enforce-able ?
I hear a lot of this lately- still find that a confusing matter really.....The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

I may submit another claim with Barclays trading as first plus about the whole settlement if i can though and the fact that we had a loan and paid back 39 months of it and still owed more than we had borrowed orginally. They never ever told us that policy was front end loaded either. If i do not win with this other one then I will take this to the courts.
Personally hun I do think you have a strong case here.;)
These companies do my head in.....:mad:The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

A few weeks later, I received a phone call from GE Money saying that if I could prove I was a student at the time, GE Money would refund my PPI payments up until my account was closed in 2002. I was advised by GE Money that a letter from my Uni would suffice as long as it stated the dates when I was in full-time education. I wrote to my University and got the letter and sent it off to GE Money, registered post. I phoned them a week later and was told everything was in order and I should expect a refund within the coming week to ten days.
About a week later, I received a letter from them saying that my letter from the Uni would not be accepted as evidence after all and that they now required me to provide a copy of my national insurance contributions for the time I took out the Burton card and that if I provided these statements they would issue a refund.
At this point I sent of an SAR.
Last week I spoke with them again to check the progress of my claim and they maintained that I had to send copies of my 1997 NI contributions before they would refund my payments. I said I would not provide the copies as they seemed to be constantly changing the goalposts and I did not trust they would honour their promise if I did provide the contribution statements.
Today I spoke with them and they are sending a Final Response as they view the matter as closed. I was not happy but said I would continue my claim on receipt of my statements within my SAR result. About a half hour later I got a call from the SAR team saying they would not provide statements pre 2002 as they did not have to. They denied they know how much PPI was paid and said all they will send is copies of my recent conversations with them etc.
My claim is now dead as far as I can see. GE Money have used all of their power to crush my claim. Any advice on anything I can do?? Do I just give up? I REALLY don’t want to give up…. :-)
Just a quick update... I kept at GE Money and got a copy of my National Insurance contributions from 1997. Told them there was nothing more I could do to prove I wasn't working. Thought that would be the end of it since it is over 11 years since the account was opened and six since it was closed. Today I got a letter from GE Money saying they were now satisfied that the PPI was not suitable!!! They are refunding the following:
Premiums: £221.63
Interest: £205.69
Loss of Cash payment: £217.02 (goodwill gesture payment!!!!!)
TOTAL: 644.34
Hurrah!!!!!!!!! Anyone out there chasing them, don't give up!!!0
