No but I could look it up. I do remember someone on here was told they would be in default in a week or two two weeks ago! and tiggrae thought it would be anyday . On the FCSC site it does list companys you can contact them about and Picture is there, is yours?

I'm not certain but I assumed that it was a good while ago that Picture dissolved and not sure if this can actually make any difference when it comes to going into default or not on timescales etc.

Up to now Twopart/Eloan are not in default, or was not up until last week, when I click in search on the FSCS site it is not known - unless I am doing something wrong like not checking on their site properly ??
So up to now, no hun I have not seem mine there  .

What do you actually click on hun on the FSCS site to check this ?
In case I am doing something wrong......:o , lol.
And does yours come under "picture finance" or picture financial limited ?
If none of those, what is the actual name you add in the search of this?
    Cheers.:D

    Its here Di

    Your complaint about Firstplus

    Thank you for your email.

From the information you have provided, it would appear that we cannot deal with your complaint because the business is not covered.

Having looked at the information you have supplied to me, it appears that your complaint against Firstplus Financial Group relates to events which occurred when it was not a member ofthe General Insurance Standards Council (GISC).

On the 14 January 2005, as a result of recent legislation, the Financial Ombudsman Service became responsible for looking into complaints against former members of GISC about events that occurred while the firm was a member of GISC.

I should explain that the firm was a member of GISC from 20 November 2001. I note the policy was sold to you in January 2000. The complaint therefore appears to outside our jurisdiction.

    Regards

    Miss A Wallis
    Consumer Consultant
    Financial Ombudsman Service

I then complained about the settlement in 2003 instead as I had no chance of the selling with them as you know. It was turned down but i have resubmitted under unfair rebate and not mentioned the settlement although i would love to do it. It was turned down after being assigned an adjudicator as he stated Firstplus did not come under their jurisdiction until 2005.

Just have to wait again now

It was the same person who had sent us that letter above like on your email.

So if they were covered by GISC then at least they could look at is that of the unfair rebate issue ????

But i did ask about it and put unfair settlement and they returned it after waiting and getting an adjudcator saying it was outside their jurisdiction as they did not come into their jurisdiction until 2005. They first told me it was within their jurisdiction.

I have now resubmitted again and just mentioned unfair rebate this time and nothing about the settlement and as i say have heard nothing back. I did mention about my other complaint and gave them all the info etc and the adjudicators name and everything. Maybe they got it wrong on the first time, i just wish they would let me know.

Ist complaint -misselling I knew i had no chance with
2nd complaint - unfair settlement got returned saying 14 January, 2005 etc
3rd complaint - unfair rebate - waiting to hear.

I think it was their mistake about my second complaint looking at this now and what they have sent out to you.

Just a thought, but maybe that is why you have not had any updates or feedback on this yet hun, and feel they will overturn this so they will look at this, which I think is only fair, especially on the unfair rebate complaint.
But I personally think they are investigating this in your favour.;)
    Fingers crossed hunni.;)

Not come across anything on the FSCS yet........ , but wonder how often they update their lists, perhaps they wait for a list and then add.

I know it states something like for a firm to be placed under default that there has to be at least more than one claim, now I take it they mean from us consumers here, and I already know of some others who have complaints against the same firm as myself........ and as far as I know who have also gone to the FSCS.

Did you ever receive the letter from the liquidators to also confirm about Picture not trading anymore hun ?
If you don't mind me asking but who are their liquidators ?

If they sent you a letter did they also enclose a claim form ?

Thanks hun, its just that we have also received a claim form from their liquidators "begbies & traynor" and this is making me think that this is why they have not gone into default yet ?? (regarding twopart/eloan).
