If you are claiming for the same firm and lots of loans then send a letter (one letter) for the misselling of all loans. That is what i did with co-op and then i sent it into FOS. He did say to me when he rang the other day that i had put that only one or maybe two would be something they could look at and that had i written to co-op and mentioned all loans to which i had. I will just have to wait and see. To me the misselling is with all of them but i understand that there are restrictions due to dates etc but they should not be allowed to get away with it on that one.

Lets hope they can do something.

    Thanks hun.

Will check out the dates on these, the closer ones together then perhaps I should keep together.

The last one I had with PPI with Lloyds was 2004/05 maybe earlier, will check but as its a bank they were covered and I only have the SAR going back as far as 6 years, although I do have some old agreements in the house somewhere.;)

Bet you will be happy to see the back of yours too hun.

I do also have others, but not sure if its too late, one of these with GE money, I had a washing machine in 2000, it may have been earlier from Currys, paid this monthly, again protection cover added, we thought it was normal then, I do still have most of the statements for this too.

I have a reclaim to do for my son, who was a student at the time at university and was sold ppi cover with a burtons card, not working at the time, he would not have been covered !

I used to run catalogues, littlewoods, and again more cover was added, think it may be too late on these though.

Anything is worth a try. I was lucky with the credit cards etc as none was applied. (at least i don't think there was). We never really kept the balances for long as we put them on loans each time and the PPI was on them.

I would just try for what you can going back 6 years and also if loans are with the same company then further as some were covered by GISC and they are all the same thing. Tiggrae says that the adjudicators recommend to the banks etc to pay them back if its longer than 6 years but don't enforce it or something. Just get on with some smaller ones now Di as you have done all you can for now with the bigger ones and if you don't then the others will get time barred too.

Just got Co-op and Firstplus and then thats the end of it for me.

I claimed all three Barclaycard Loans PPI at same time although they were linked cause my OH kept re structuring the loans and increasing. They went back to 2002.

That is why i don't think any of my others will be looked into as there was a gap in between each and none were to pay off the other. Although the gap is only 1 month. Still one (or maybe two??) is better than nothing but keeping positive on the others. It would be nice.:D
  • Well, me and the wife have just started PPI Reclaim process this week. ( I have to say info and advice from this Website on this matter is absolutely 1st class). Firstplus have come back very quickly (within 2 days.) with standard "we are looking into your case ....thanks for bringing this to our attention", and yes I do expect the fob offs. I will keep you all informed. I am also requesting a SAR from them this week.

We took out the loan in November 2002, 28k over 180 months and the PPI was added at front end, around 5000. We made 30 payments of around 400 pound then asked for a settlement figure. In the end the settlement figure was 34811 plus the 12000 we'd already made in paymentsangry-smiley-030.gif (Still makes me mad) total paid to firstplus 47k approx for a loan of 28k. At least !!!!!! Turpin wore a mask! We were moving house so we needed to settle anyway.

I reckon we are due the 5000 plus interest paid (payments and settlement) as well as the 8% per year standard addition.

    I will keep you posted

Just a thought, has anyone still got ongoing loans and what do you now do to protect them with all this PPI misselling. I know we pay income protection insurance but we know that lots on that even will not be covered. For myself to get insurance it would cost a hell of a lot now (i cancelled my life insurance when things got bad) but my husband has insurance being this income protection. Just been reading of someone losing their hubby when he was 48 and saying that this bank wanted the loan still paid off. The reply as from the person she was asking in the newspaper was that it was the risk she took of not having PPI to cover it.

Its so risky not having it and then again if you do have it their are only about 20% of claims that are actually paid out. You cannot win. Perhaps we all need to start putting our money under the mattress again and spending only what we have got.

    yes, please do...

Firstplus were members of the GISC in November 2001 so you should have no prob taking this to the FOS but make sure its done as soon as possible (6 years in November???). Send all letters recorded delivery as well so you have a proof.,

Good luck. Lots of Firstplus unhappy customers on here.

Made me laugh about the !!!!!! Turpin bit:rotfl:

The 6 year thing, I'm thinking as long as I have documentation proving this correspondence regarding the PPi between myself and Firstplus as well as the SAR info, I can continue my claim beyond the 6years (as long as its logged with Firstplus within the 6year period), Or do I have an issue if the fobbing off persists beyond November?

The fobbing off has to be done and dusted within 8 weeks and you have to give them 8 weeks to settle the complaint in full.

If it goes on longer (from the date of your first letter to them) then you can take your complaint to the FOS anyway. That is why you need these letters sending recorded delivery.

To take your complaint to the FOS you need a final response letter from them and you should receive this within the 8 weeks.

Also going by Firstplus's record I would get your form downloaded for the FOS already and par fill out and when you get your final response from them then ring FOS and get a complaint number, add it and away you go.

Don't mean to sound negative here but its to do with time just in case.

Thanks hun, I agree, both me and hubby was talking about this, he has already been making plans ready for tomorrow, first thing is to email and/or ring the FOS to explain his circumstances due to being on the sick from work at present and has been for 2 months now, then its time to get cracking with the smaller ones, although we do have the Endeavour one to get in this week because I really don't think we will hear anything from these.;)
