Got the same letter today, just want them to be declared in default once and for all! I wonder if this company would offer me a better rebate figure !!:rotfl:

  • It is bloody outrageous - we are still paying our loan - didn't even know that PPI was added -or that we had choices or that it only lasted 5 years (PPI) or that it only covered my husband - AND that we would be paying for it over 30 years, but we were desperate, not that that's an excuse, but when you see Carol Vordeman selling it on the TV - you would think she would have worked out the figures and have a conscience- as per her qualifications in Maths - rant! rant! rant! Sorry, i'm beginning to bore myself - but very angry about ALL the problems everyone is having over PPI:mad:

What they have done is actually illegal and there are lawyers who will recover the money for you without making any charges or deducting any fees from the money that they recover.

I had wrote/emailed the FSA back over a week ago despite then waiting to hear from Click Financial, here is the reply just received by email and mine below this, the one I did actually send the FSA.

    Our Ref:

In order that we can deal with this matter as quickly as possible please do not delete the Subject line of this email when you reply. You can add further wording to it but please do not Remove XXXXXXXXX

    Dear Mr and Mrs

Thank you for your email received on 23 August 2008.

The Financial Services Authority (FSA) became responsible for regulating general insurance on 14 January 2005, therefore our rules only relate to advice and sales on or after this date. We cannot comment on what rules were in place before the FSA became responsible for the regulation of general insurance. However, prior to 14 January 2005, the General Insurance Standards Council (GISC) regulated general insurance. Most large insurance firms chose to be a member of GISC.

    How to complain

The FSA cannot intervene in or investigate complaints against the firms we regulate on behalf of the public; this is the role of a separate and independent body, the Financial Ombudsman Service (the Ombudsman). If the firm was a former member of GISC, then you would be eligible to use the Ombudsman Service. You may wish to contact the Ombudsman to confirm this.

As you have already made a formal complaint against Click Financial Ltd and your complaint has not been resolved to your satisfaction, then you may wish to contact Ombudsman. You can find more information on the Ombudsman, including their contact details through their website at http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/about/index.html.

What we do with your information

Although we cannot look into individual complaints, we welcome information from consumers which could highlight wider concerns that could affect our regulatory activities.

The information in your email has been passed to the relevant team within the FSA. How they follow up information received, whether it comes from consumers, the Ombudsman, consumer bodies or industry sources, will depend upon the risks posed to our objectives, the quality of the evidence and the seriousness of the accusations.

However, please be aware that we do not generally give you any feedback on how we have followed up the information you have given us. This is because the Financial Services and Markets Act imposes restrictions on how we can deal with confidential information that we receive. Also, if we were to tell you about an ongoing investigation it might prejudice the investigation itself. We realise this can be frustrating but would reassure you that all information is carefully considered before we decide what action, if any, we take.

    Further information

You can find further information on Phoenix firms through our consumer friendly website at: http://www.moneymadeclear.fsa.gov.uk/news/firm/2005_archive/phoenix_firms.html

The Customer Contact Centre - how we can help

If you have any future questions on financial services and products, you may find it easier to call our Consumer Helpline on 0845 606 1234 (call rates may vary). Before doing so, you can learn about the work we carry out as the point of contact for consumers in our information sheet 'The Customer Contact Centre': http://www.moneymadeclear.fsa.gov.uk/pdfs/ccc_consumer_contact_centre.pdf.

No selling. No jargon. Just the facts.

We are interested in finding out about people's views and experiences of the services offered by the Customer Contact Centre. As a result, we employ a research agency to help us, and they may contact you, via the telephone, to see if you would be prepared to take part in a short telephone interview. If you do receive a phone call you are under no obligation to complete the survey. Please rest assured that your details will remain confidential and will not be used for any other purposes; we are not trying to sell you any financial products or service, and no sales call will result from this.

We had taken out a loan in July 2004, this was arranged by Click Finanical, Farnham.
We had tried to pursue a mis sold payment protection insurance and was informed that they had dissolved in 2006, where this was also confirmed by begbies & traynor the liquidators.
However, we are aware Click Financial are still running maybe by a different reg number, but the same directors, Mr XXXXX XXXXXXX and Mr XXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXX

We have been reading about "phoenix firms" and are concerned we may have a issue here.
We have since emailed the compliance manager Mr XXX XXXXXXXX over the last few days to request for them to reconsider our complaint, as we feel we have been let down and ignored about our case, which had put us out of pocket regarding the mis selling of the ppi.
We are aware that Click financial became FSA regulated as from Jan 2005 but were not in 2004 when we were sold this policy.

We would appreciate any information here, and expect to hear from the above (Click financial) over the next week.

    Thank you.

Really and truely the poster could get on with claiming themselves and i don't know if we are allowed to actually put down firms of solicictors as it could be seen as touting. I have not heard of these and maybe this would have been better in a pm than to actually put a link in here.

Yes a letter or letters must be done.;)

I emailed over a week ago just to explain and put it into writing, we generally get a reply by now from the FOS, although I know they will not look at the mis selling side as they returned the forms, but this as you know is about the unfair rebate.;)

Will get hubby to ring, he has a good strong voice lol.......:D .

Quite agree with marshallka you should not be touting on here. There are regular people who have lots of knowledge and have been a help to me and lots of others on this forum. If they need further help we have regulars on here who are trusted and can give advice.
