    Hi Di

Glad you got it sorted. My OH can crash a computer just by walking passed it let alone touching it. OH tells me it is electrical interference. I think it is just interference in general lol.

help.trying to claim back ppi on a loan taken out in dec 2005.Applied on lloyds tsb website, did not tick the box for the ppi.Received phone call few days later stating i would not be able to continue with application unless i took out ppi.I told them i didnt want it as i am self-employed and sometimes work for so many weeks at a time then maybe have no work for a couple of weeks, told them i never claim job seekers or any other benefit when no work on as its only ever for a short period of time. They still insisted i took it out. So i took out the ppi. In may of this year started trying to claim it back giving the reasons stated above.Ive had the final response saying they will refinance the loan at the same APR for the same term outstanding and providing i have not made a claim which to date i havent,i would receive an insurance rebate which would be used to reduce the outstanding balance. If im not happy with this i can complain to the FOS. FINALLY, my question is should i take this offer or complain to FOS. THANK-YOU IN ADVANCE !!!

    Hi

Did they say how much the rebate would be . Do not accept unless it is 100% plus interest plus 8%. Unless of course you are happy with what they offer.

I would write telling them no give them say 14 days to reply then when they send final response take it to the FOS and send a copy of the form you send to the FOS (for their informationn)

Lloyds are sharks I have a claim with loan taken out in 2004 with PPI which I am going for unenforceable because they have messed me about so much. All loans credit cards etc have had with Lloyds they seem to have added PPI on even though am self employed and have health issues,

    Good luck:D

I would take your complaint to the FOS. Especially as it was after Jan 05 and also point out to them that you doing so as you have asked for the whole PPI back (misselling) and not a rebate.

I presume this was a Single Premium insurance and most post Jan 05 complaints with them are being upheld.

I think you will be ok but just to let you know there is a long wait at the FOS

Thanx for reply so soon.I sent them a letter saying i would refinance the loan at same APR with the protection removed but i still wanted a full refund of premiums paid to date with 8 % interest on top. The new letter they have sent says this is their final offer and i will get a rebate for the remaining term of the loan. I take it this will not be 100% plus 8%.They dont say what amount i would get back. Thanx again

Tell them in another letter that you do not accept their rebate and that you are taking this matter to the FOS straight away. It may shift their !!! to repay the whole amount. Make it plain that you will not accept their rebate.

These tick boxes are often filled in by the person that sells you the ppi. I would say to you though that as its over the 6 years it probably time barred for the FOS and so your only option would be through the courts here.
All the boxes my husband ticked had lines through them but the ppi box had a x in it ?,not sure he completed it or someone else. Do you think it is worth going for mis selling the product or forced sale .I am so sure that we didnt take out this policy???

Hi I should, rebate is what they want to give you which means it will be proportionate
what you should be entitled to is a refund plus your interest plus 8%.

    Good luck and be patient:eek:
