Just to let you know have just received in the mail a letter from FOS re our claim against FIRSTPLUS, they are passing our claim onto their 'casework team to await allocation to an adjudicator'. Does that mean that they are happy to take our claim on?
thanks in advance for any helpDEBT free:j0 -

It means that the initial criteria is in place e.g. you have had Final Response letter and it is not time barred. Or that is my understanding of it.
Have been waiting since December for some of mine and still not been placed with an adjudicator so may be a long process. I wonder if they take on certain organisations and types of claims e.g. credit card or Loan as my Barclays Loan was taken on within five months and I noticed in the success thread others were also settled at the same time.:mad:0 -
I have no idea about PPI claims, but we have had a quick response with regard to credit card claims for unfair charges, within a couple of weeks!DEBT free:j0

You must have been very lucky I know others have been waiting ages e.g. 9 - 12 months. Lets hope it gets sorted quickly.:mad:0

Yes, that is what it seems to imply in their letter, and the information they have sent, which states 'First steps first - we'll usually start by seeing if we can help you and the business sort things out informally. We'll
* look at your side of the story
* contact the business to get their side'........... etc etc
So from that, I read it that they believe we have a complaint, and will gather evidence from both sides!!!DEBT free:j0 -
Hi
Am no expert at all I think what it means is that your have passed the first part e.g. received all paperwork filled in correctly and within time limits.
As far as I am aware they then accept that you feel you have a complaint but surely they will not know until the adjudicator has assessed file and got all relevant information from the lender. Otherwise if they did not have to look into it they would uphold the complaint as soon as the first stage is over.
Am sure somebody knows their workings inside out and will advise us soon.:mad:0 -
Can't believe this, i have just received a letter from the Co-op asking me to send a cheque for a full SAR to them for £10 and a template for a SAR preprinted by them. They received my request at the end of July and first sent out details of bank charges and nothing else. I then asked them to actually read my letter as this was regarding the loans with them. They told me that this would then be sent out immediately. I have now had this in this mornings post. I have rang them again and they have asked me what i actually want. I have told them again that i want details of anything to do with all loans we have had with them. That was original request. They have now apologised and say they are sending this information out. The thing is they have cashed my cheque some time ago. Its so annoying that they do not actually read your letters.
My compaint is now with the ombudsman but i still want my SAR from them. I want to see just what we have actually paid with interest over the 4 loans we had. I know 2 at least are time barred but when you have it on paper of what they have had from you then it makes you more determined to win your claim.0 -

Sorry to hear that it is soooooo frustrating. I think a lot of the time they have employed Junior or staff who have no experience just to process the paperwork.
I hope they respond quickly for you or do you think this is deliberate stalling on their behalf.
There is a saying "pay peanuts get monkeys":rotfl:
I think you are very wise getting SAR for yourself then you can check and if the claim is upheld find out how much they should be paying you.:D:mad:0 -
Hi Guys,
just had another letter from the FOS letting me know that my complaint has been passed to the casework support team to await allocation to an adjudicator, and that someone will write to me as soon as possible with a progress update. Does it normally happen this fast? they've only had the complaint a couple of weeks. So how long will it take from here - anybody any ideas?LTSB PPI - £770 ish for dad
LTSB PPI for dad - £1800 for dad
Barclays PPI claim for self-£2204
Dads home insurance - reduced by £200 a year "WE DO NOT LIVE IN FLOOD AREA AND I DON'T SEE WHY WE SHOULD PAY FOR THOSE THAT DO - I WANT TO SPEAK TO YOUR SUPERVISOR"!0
