PPI Reclaiming discussion Part II

Hi there,
I`m reclaiming the PPi because I was told that I had to have it in order to get the credit card.0 -
Well said and very good point what I`m doing is building up a slush fund of what we were paying in PPI to all the companys and i`ve started a savings account with Halifax at 10% its only for 1 year and you can put up to £500 a month in it. So at least if something does happen we`ll have a bit of cash to hand, and at least I feel in control of it.0

I do think you need to protect against the worst and especially when the state don't help in most cases but these ppi policies are just robbing people and most are completely useless.0

How come the acceptance you signed didnt state the amount? How do you know what your signing for is correct?
The guy on the phone has told me the amount being refunded plus interest, i'll let you know hopefully tomorrow when i get in from work as he was posting out today special delivery0 -
Hi Folks.
I'm really confused as to how I can claim, or even if I can, but I'm ratehr annoyed at how stupid I've been...
Last summer I had a spring clean of my finances and found a bunch of insurance I didnt need anymore - I was even paying some house insurance for a property I didnt own anymore (brilliant eh?). To be fair to Barlcays in this instance they refunded it from the date I sold the house without any questions.
I also found payment protection on my overdraft, which at the time was 4500GPB. this amounted to £36 per month - I've checked my old statements back as far as I have them (early 2001) and I've always paid for this PPI at .90pence in the pound. I certainly can't remember ever taking this out, it could have been when the overdraft was as low as a few hundred pound!
Anyway, when I realised what I was paying I asked Barclays to cancel it immediately, which they did. Am I likely to be able to claim under some sort of mis - selling?
Any advice really appreciated - I'm pretty good with my finances now and it really annoys me how lax I used to be (I also found to mobile phone insurance policies for phones I no longer owned when I had my spring clean last year...).
Kind regards0 -
Tiggrae i pm'd you earlier. Did you get it. thanks,0

Thanks, I also think that they are not in receivership (or perhaps they've set up again under a different name as website is still working). 8 weeks is up for me at the end of this week so I am going to complete the ombudsman complaint form and go from there, may get referred to FSCS (but no record of PLE on their website as being in default). Will keep you informed.

we had to go through FOS
the acceptance form was from FOS not FP just saying that it was full redress plus interest, to put us in the posiTion of if we had not had the PPI
On friday they sent an email to say that they had received the form from FOS
and would be forwarding the cheque and calculations in the next few days:money:
so its has taken 3 emails over 3 days with no reply from FP to ask for the calculations and the cheque amount.plus nothing in the post from them.:mad::mad:
I am going to email FOS to see if they have received any info on this ,as they my have to check the amount before it is sent to us.
trying to give them the benefit of being thorough and not get it wrong:cool:still fighting for my money !!!0
