Hi Aquarius. With regards to your second paragraph, I would begin by discussing this with Barclaycard (if you haven't already) to see if the credit limit can be reinstated. However, assuming it isn't a 'glitch' in the system, they seem to want to reduce your borrowing for some reason.

Either way, you can send off the template letters from this site to reclaim your charges. Being persistent will pay off. I was going to accept a reduced offer from MBNA, however, I got the whole lot from them after 2 letters. Like with PPI reclaims, send letters by recorded post. I think its pretty low of them to leave you in that situation. PS - are you reclaiming PPI on this card?
    Hi MWH1

Many thanks for your reply. I have sent Barclaycard a quick e-mail today asking if there was any chance I could get my limit back to what it was - I believe the reason it was changed was because at the time I was near my limit of £2500. Currently I have £2020 on the card and find it really frustrating I am hit with over limit fees. I have to wait 3 days for a response so will see what they say. I have already submitted a letter asking for a full list of charges which I am waiting for.

I am also claiming PPI from this card which I have just sent off a complaint form to the FOS as they sent me a Final Response letter yesterday saying that my case does not grant any compensation as I should have opted out in the 30day cooling off period. I've had the card 5 years!

Do you think I stand any chance? Thanks
Barclaycard PPI £274.84: Currently with FOS
Barclaycard Fees £226.87: Still being hit with overlimit fees due to BC lowering limit
    MINT £101.61: Accepted offer for £95.05! 17/08/08 :T
Abbey: Waiting for list of charges

Misrepresentation Act 1967 s2(1) as they breached Consumer Credit Act 1974. "A clause in the contract which states that a signature indicates full acceptance is not valid where it would be unlikely that the customer would have the skill and inclination to go through the fine detail". See case Howard Maine v A Ogden 1975.
    Hi Sarahc5388

Thanks for that quote! Did you do law by any chance? I've done a little!

I have sent off a complaint form to the FOS this evening as Barclaycard sent me their final response letter. Will just have to see how I get on!

    Thanks

    I agree
I can honestly say I would wait for FOS to say yes or no
I would say they would have said no quite quickly if there was no hope.
please be a bit more positive marshalka

Laini sorry how the document came out but what do you think, let me know.

Can i have secured loan with ppi front loaded and can i repay the interest on it for the full term and can you please use rule 78 on me when i settle early. If you can offer all those products then you are good competition for those already in business.

and all for only 49% interest repayable for 50 years - do you need life insurance - discounts available if you buy both! I am highly trained in all aspects of this selling and you must take it - see - I have pre-ticked the box - therefore it must be the law - and failure to comply is punishable by death

We need something light hearted every now and again on here. It seems to be drying up on here the last couple of days. There will be a new thread soon for Unfair terms in contracts with Freedom Finance when i have finished.
