    Yeah it was...

Its not anywhere near back what you would get for your misselling but at least its something and you can use the ombudsman.

I am doing exactly this and don't know if they take into consideration the interest on the policy either. If they do then I will be looking at what I want back from them in the unfair rebate...

I also read on the ombudsman site yesterday and posted that the "insurer" was responsible for the person selling the insurance so maybe you could make a complaint for the SALE of the insurance to the insurer here and bypass your Freedom Finance altogether. It may be worth a shot but you need to get moving and don't waste time again.

Who was your insurer... What does it say on your policy..

    I'm back hello all

Cassidy Davis insurance group, the ppi leaflet states the insurers are not members of the GISC. It also states that firstplus fin group is a member of the GISC and acts as an intermediary for the insurers in arranging this ppi policy.

However freedom arranged it I'm not quite sure what input firstplus had to do in all of this?

The below is interesting thanks marshallka, can you tell me a bit more about a complaint for the sale not sure what you mean, eg in what way could I complain about it other than I feel it to have been missold?

Exactly, I agree with you hun.

For instance my broker was Click Finance who arranged my loan in July 2004, although they run many companies this actual one dissolved in 2005, annoying really because the actual director of that company will not take any responsibility for mis selling, and say they are unable to help due to dissolving...... , anyway the lender which was arranged by Click are Endeavour, and I have this one in with the FOS right now, the 2nd time round, and like Marshallka's I am expecting this thrown back to me.

I have in the meantime emailed the FOS who are supposed to be checking on this for me, I had asked them if it were them of the lender or the insurer I should be dealing with due to the unfair rebate settlement matter - now just waiting for a reply.

I have just done my letter to these people as these are part of the Lloyds thing. I rang them up and found out that these are the people that i make the complaint against and they told me that I write to them as Miller Firstline went into liquidation and they then let firstplus handle the complaint and correspond to me. I am waiting for the ombudsman to get back though first before sending this letter as it looks like if they were not members of the GISC then would they be under this compulsory jurisdiction of the ombudsman.:confused::confused:

    http://www.cassidydavis.com/lloyds.htm

This is who i am about to write to (not sent it yet)
    Haywards Heath
    Cassidy Davis Insurance Services
    21 Perrymount Road
    Haywards Heath
    West Sussex
    RH16 3TP

Just received this from the Ombudsman in regards to who to write to.
Thank you for your email below. Further to your conversation with A*********, I have made contact with Firstplus to request confirmation of who the underwriter was for your PPI policy. I will contact you as soon as I have received this information.
In the meantime, I thank you for your patience.

I couldn't help myself and rang firstplus today to ask who the insurer was and they told me to write to Miller Firstline as stated on the policy. I then told him that they went into liquidation in 2003 and he told me to write to the FSCS then. I was so annoyed then. I asked again who underwrote the policy and he said the list of the 3 or even 4 if you include the life insurance. I then rang Lloyds and asked for syndicate 582 and they gave me a number for Cassidy Davies. I then rang them and they told me to make my complaint to them in the first instance as Miller Firstline was dissolved. They told me that although I have complained to them that they would then pass the complaint to Lloyds and then Firstplus would correspond to all this.
I am now going to make another complaint about the way I am being sent around in circles with this complaint. Its so ridiculous but I cannot send this letter yet to Cassidy as the Ombudsman has asked for my patience in this matter.
I have no patience left. It went some months ago..
