So what are you doing now to pay the mortgage. Does this get paid by the social for you now... If you need to claim again in 6 months your hubby will more than most likely be back in work then anyway...

How do you pay for it now..

Nope hun, with what we had left in the bank we have been paying with because I did not know the social would pay if on sick only if made redundant, and because he is still classed as employed I was not sure.

Its only now recently we have gone into the overdraft, luckily not much into it at the moment, I receive carer's allowance the beginning of this year though as my son was not awarded DLA until late last year, it had taken a while for carers to get sorted out early this year and I receive child tax every week, think since I have been having these bens (although I class my son's DLA as his own) it works out not far off £1000 a month and hubby has his usual SSP which is not a lot, so I am thankful for what I have to see us through even though it soon goes as it comes in.

I am going to check the Pinnacle documents out again.

Just realised and checked my statement, hubby also has working tax as the income with this job was not as good as the steelplant job, okay its only £13 working tax a week, where I get £120 week child tax, I get the extra premium because my son is on high rate DLA care and has mobility too, so the tax credits give the disability premiums to make this up.

But should I ring or should hubby ring the working tax to tell them he is on the sick ??

Just checked this but it does not mention about being on the sick to tell them.

    Message for Di3004 & tiggrae:D

I have contacted the fos, and they are sending a letter to Barclays for me. As you know it can take up to 8 weeks, for them to reply.

Fingers x they will move them into action:rolleyes:

Will let you know as soon as I hear back.

A big Thank You to di3004 & tiggrae,:A for the advice I recived from them on the 9th October.

I contacted the fos, as reported. Well I have just had a phone call from Barclays. they are refunding all my payments made for the PPI, plus compensation.:j

    £5,849.27p:D

Because I only had 13 months left to pay on loan, they cleared that for me and have put the rest into my account today. So I am a very happy person.

Thank you again for all your help and advice. Big Bunch of flowers to both of you.

Just received this one now. Apparently I cannot claim unfair rebate against Firstplus as this is unfair and they are not responsible. The adjudicator of yesterday is of no-more and this is from todays developments.
Thank you for your email regarding your above mentioned complaint. Your complaint has been passed to me to determine whether or not it is one which we can consider. From the papers in the file I understand that you would like us to investigate a complaint about the unfair rebate paid on your PPI policy.
Whilst I appreciate that your policy was sold by Firstplus in January 2000, and issues relating to rebate payments should be directed to the insurance company who underwrote the policy. I therefore suggest that you initially contact the insurance company as they provided the rebate, in order to raise your concerns with it. Details of the insurance company should be stated in your policy booklet.
The complaint handling procedures which are laid down by the Financial Services Authority, state that a business must be provided eight weeks from date the complaint is received, so that it has the opportunity to ‘put things right’, and investigate the complaint. The insurance company should therefore have eight weeks from date of receipt of your letter to look into the complaint and issue its final response letter on the matter. Consequently, if after receipt of its final response letter, you remain dissatisfied with the outcome of its investigations, you should contact us within six months from the date of its letter to refer your complaint to us.

On the basis that Firstplus are not responsible for the unfair rebate issues relating to your PPI policy, it would be inappropriate for me to investigate a complaint against it, and for that reason I will move to close the complaint unless I hear from you with any further comments that you feel would make a significant difference to the outcome by 6 November 2008.

    Many thanks

I have called but still its not within jurisdiction to look into this complaint for unfair rebate agains the lender.

Singlep was right on this one. I spoke to the person handling this just and she it is the date the policy was sold to you.

I have emailed the policy booklet that FIrstplus sent me in the SAR as she said that she will try to find out where i direct my complaint to. It states

Underwritten by a consortium of insurers and no actual address.

Just looked who the insurance was supposedly underwritten by and it was

40% AA Cassidy and others, Syndicate 582 at Lloyds
    35% SCOR UK
    25% Zurich

Who are the actual underwriters here.
