FOS have told me they were not a member of GISC unfortunately, FSA only regulated them in jan 05.
I have been trying to get it back since 2004 but have had to let it lie at times because it is very stressful and does take over your life. But I always come back fighting because I believe there is always an answer somewhere.
Not sure if I tried FLA. Will have a look? Thanks0 -

How much would it cost me though? I really can't afford this route. Was thinking of using those no win no fee people?

When I have a few minutes, I'm going to dig back out my SAR with my Lloyds loans details, for the figure of settlement on this for when we paid these off, I have so much paperwork, and there has been quite a few loans with these over the years, but one of those did not have ppi, that was a loan they gave to me alone, again I was not working and its in my name only...... .
Okay no ppi on it but they still sold me a loan......, I did not know if they should or shouldn't have then in my homemaking circumstances.....
The others have ppi but were joint.
Loads of digging out to.The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

I would think even with the courts route now they could get this thrown out under the limitations act as you became aware over 3 years ago and did not make a case for over 4 years. I don't know... but it is a long time to fight and know something and then leave it that long. I am jut looking at this how they would fight you back in court.
These are the rules for the Ombudsman and these are rules that are from the limitations act too so used in courts.
(1) more than six months after the date on which the respondent sent the complainant its final response; or
(2) more than:
(a) six years after the event complained of; or (if later)
(b) three years from the date on which the complainant became aware (or ought reasonably to have become aware) that he had cause for complaint.0 -

I think they may be ok as lots of people were sold them. (in law that is!!) In my eyes they should not have been sold to anyone that could not afford to pay these back but you have done now. I think these types of things would be argued in DMP only if you actually got yourself into trouble paying them back.
When we were waiting for the money to come through from nemo, we were desperate, and due to hubby coming out of work as you know the plant went down under, the loan was sold to me in Dec 2007, no ppi though.
I will keep to the ppi complaints now on the loans, and see what we come up with.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0
