Many thanks Anne.jade. I telephoned First Plus this morning and spoke to the man who is in charge of our complaint. I asked for copies of all the phone calls/paperwork and he said thats fine no problem will sort that for you. I said I want ALL the phone calls on disc and surprise surprise the one which they definately said we had to take the PPI out is corupt and cannot be accessed! I explained to him exactly what was said and also stressed once again that we weren't asked if we had existing cover. I am going to wait for the CD, listen and then send a very strong letter back to them. What are my chances of getting anything back if the most damning phone call cannot be accessed? Also which letter should i send back once I have listened to the cd - do I just reiterate everything that I stated in my first letter. Thanks again to all you lovely people you are doing a fab job and keeping me sane!!!
Hi there Doddy03.
Hope your well.;)
Glad they are sending you what you require, that's good news.
When you receive the disc, make sure you have some peace and quiet lol, while going through it listen very carefully, and if you put the disc into your computer you may note the conversations of the recordings are dates, if you catch something that is essential to your complaint, write down the dates, because I had done this and added the most important one for the FOS to take note of, to be honest I do think it was the recordings that helped with mine.
Although I will point out there were some jumpy blanks in the conversation, and I do believe the FOS picked on that too.
However, I still feel even if there is nothing much on the recordings that the FOS will still look at this in your favour as this company are well known to the mis selling issue, you still have your own reasons of why you believe you were mis sold.
Think positive hun and keep at it, you will be fine.;)
Good luck!

I even rang the ICO about this matter and was told that "they would not want to incriminate themselves would they??". I thought that the ICO could assist in cases like this. Apprarently not in my case?
Barclays Firstplus seems to do this often in that if you know that you said no to them or challenged the PPI then they blank the phone call.0 -

If they do not then chris is lucky but even if they do then they can still pursue this complaint through the FOS.

Yes Barclays - First plus are known for doing this, my mate has the same issues with these...... , like Nemo they had done this with both me and hubby, he was getting wound up on the phone with them and when he said he was passing the phone on to me I had really went to town on them about the PPI, on the recordings nemo left my hubbys bit on there which I think they would not have if they double checked because he said I am passing my wife on to you now and that was not on the disc, so I know the FOS picked up on that one too.
I do think doddy has a strong chance against Barclays - FP. Even if the recordings are missing, so many have made this comment to the FOS about them and about missing conversations ,so I think they have the idea.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Hi All,
Just a quick update to the HSBC PPI claim saga.
Recliaming PPI on a £10000 loan taken out in 2003.
I sent my template letter taken from this site on 19/09/08, received standard reponse from HSBC, 'we will be in touch in 8 weeks'.
Received a second letter from HSBC 10/10/08 advising they are currently looking into the claim and will take another 4 weeks.
Don't know if they are really doing anything or just sending out the standard letters which all receive.:rolleyes:0 -

My hubby received a letter today of an offer of a top up loan from Lloyds TSB...... , I bet that is really why they wanted him to go for a review last week which he did not end up going and I have torn up that letter in bits and now in the bin.....:D .
The letter was again addressed to him only and we have a "joint bank account"...... .The one and only "Dizzy Di"0
