Not sure if this is still active, but i have been sent an unlock code by my network provider, but it does not work. I put in a different sim, enter the code when it asks, but it comes back as unsuccessful. I am entering it exactly as given. Any ideas?
My network is TalkMobile, i have also put in a request to Vodafone as that is who it was sold as being with, not heard back yet.
The phone is over 2 years old so no quibbles there. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -
Go back to your network. Was the phone originally sold by them?0

Originally sold through Argos on Vodafone, Vodafone is the carrier for Talk Mobile.
Tried going back to network, they sent me to manufacturer, who sent me back to network ................What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -
Hi,
I believe a Company called iphoneimei.net used to be recommended on this site for an unlock of your mobile, especially iphones. At that stage, I did use them and it worked perfectly for what I believe was around £20. I recently have tried to use them again and in big writing it says you pay £19.99 but in 'very small' writing underneath it is now also saying that there is a further £34.50 to pay once they receive the unlock code from their supplier. It appears very underhand. They get you to pay the £19.99 before hitting you with the other payment. Which means they try to get you to pay nearly £55 for an unlock. I just wanted to make people aware of this. Why they have changed to this policy, I will never know, but perhaps that is why they no longer appear on this website? Perhaps others have already come up against this..............0 -
has anybody on here used "fonecarecodes"on ebay as they're only asking 99p to unlock a mobile (although it is a cheap VM595 locked to the virgin network bought from Argos), the feedback seems very good but I've heard many horror stories on here of paying a small fee then being billed for a huge fee some time later eg. the post above.0

I'll try to be brief. My iPhone took unscheduled "bath" and is dead. Can't afford a new iPhone.
I've got an old Nokia 920 lying around but it looks like its locked to EE.
Does anyone have an unlock code that would work on this please or recommend a cheap, reliable place to get one?
Many thanks in adavnce.0 -

Hi,
I have just had an experience with an online service called"directunlock", who initially charged me £12.99 to unlock my Samsung Galaxy A5 from Vodafone. I was then asked for a further £19.40, which I stupidly paid, not suspecting a scam, until I the received an email to say my unlock had been unsuccessful because my phone is "unfortunately marked by the carrier as Blocked/In-Contract/Outstanding Finance - Premium Service Required. A handset can be blocked for non payment of bills, bad ESN or contract issues". This of course, is untrue. They stated that I needed to provide proof to obtain a refund. When I replied that I had contacted Vodafone who told me that they will unlock my phone for free and sent me a code in a couple of days and therefore I wished to cancel my request for their service, within the 14 day period, as is my right, I heard nothing from them....and no refund, despite 3 emails to reiterate my cancellation.
BEWARE....I believe this to be a scam and can see no recourse to get my money back and so feel compelled to report this company on this brilliant forum, to warn everyone to be vigilant with third party phone unlocking services.
I forgot to say that after requesting to cancel, they sent me an email with many different methods and codes to unlock my phone, which they had previously said was blocked., so totally ignoring my request.0
