I have some questions:
What dog do you have? A gorgeous 2 year old Red Staffordshire Bull
Terrier Called Dee Dee.
Why did you get your dog? My ex 'surprised' me with her a month ago
Where did you get it? Ex got her off a friend of a freind who was going
to prison for a few years
What does it eat? I'm trying to wean her onto dry food, she's a fussy
biatch, so atm I get Tesco premium cans and mix in
dry food I get from the local pet shop, I'm slowly
reducing the wet meat.
How much does it cost you weekly? About £6, but when I get paid I'm
going to buy a massive bag of the
dry food as it's cheaper in the long
run.
Do you leave it alone? Yes, not all the time though, I only work part time
And sometimes that's nights, but she is fine with
being left, the first time I left her alone, it was for
an hour to do the nursery run, I expected to come
home to a chewed up house, but thankfully she's
not a chewer, and is very well housetrained.
Work/holiday arrangements? If I work days she's fine being left on her
own, and if I work nights there is someone
here watching my son anyway.
Do you do anything with it (agility/flyball etc)? Just take her out for walks,
we are quite lucky beacuse there
is a massive piece of land behind
where I live, which is a lake, forest
and massive open green area, we
spend at least an hour a day there.
Anything else you'd like to say.:j Baby boy Number 2, arrived 12th April 2009!:j0 -
I have some questions:
What dog do you have? A Lhasa Apso x Shih Tzu
Why did you get your dog? Because our old dog died and we couldnt live without a dog . I was researching dogs that dont shed hair, I think I underestimated the amount of grooming needed though to prevent the fur from matting and hurting the dog. He needs to be brushed regularly, washed once a week and clipped ever 6 to 8 weeks to keep it manageable.
Where did you get it? I saw an advert on Epupz from someone who needed to rehome her puppy. Went to see him and brought him home that night.
What does it eat? Wagg dried food
How much does it cost you weekly? Not a lot, havent worked it out though.
Do you leave it alone? Yes. I am a SAHM but starting work in September, although that is only 3 hours a day, mon to Fri.
Work/holiday arrangements? My friends sister has had him, but she is a teacher and goes on hol at the same time as us, so he will be in kennels for 2 weeks.
Do you do anything with it (agility/flyball etc)? I always intended to do agility but never ended up doing it. I'm sure he would love it though!“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0 -

Why did you get your dog? our last dog (a rottwieler) passed away in febuary and we felt we ould give another dogs a home
Where did you get it? two different rescue sites
What does it eat? arden grange
How much does it cost you weekly? havent worked it out for fear it might frighten me lol
Do you leave it alone? yes for a couple of hrs here and there
Work/holiday arrangements? we have a very good house/pet sitter
Do you do anything with it (agility/flyball etc)? no we are still in the training stage but we go for two at least 40 mins walk a day (not the rottie thugh he will have shorter walks to start with as he is to young)
Anything else you'd like to say. our dogs make our home, although sometimes its a bit of a pain when its raining, the short period we were without a dog we realised how quite our home was (yes even with two children) i dont think this will ever again be a pet free home.now proud mum to 3 handsome boys :j latest one born 10/10/11:j0 -

I have some questions:
What dog do you have? 5 month old yellow lab !!!!!
Why did you get your dog? -- Wanted one for years but never seemed the right time. Wife now works less hours so feel able to give her the time she requires.
Where did you get it? From a local breeder. Daughter was on work placement at a local vets and asked if any puppies had been in for there 1st jabs recently
What does it eat? Was on dry food ( Royal Canine) but now on BARF diet (Bones and raw food)
How much does it cost you weekly? £5 a week for insurance. Bones free, raw meat approx £3 a week then a bit extra for meal mix, sardines/pilchards, raw eggs goats milk fruit etc.
Do you leave it alone? She sleeps in her crate for approx 3 hours in a morning so try to do all jobs then. Occassionally leave her at other times but for no longer than 3 hours.
Work/holiday arrangements?Have some good friends who's old dogs have recently died. They had her for a week recently
Do you do anything with it (agility/flyball etc)? Starting to get her to retrieve but not that interested at present!
Anything else you'd like to say.Wish we'd done it sooner!0 -
Anything else you'd like to say. Wanting an evening or weekend companion and leaving a dog alone all day is unkind.
This isn't entirely true providing they have space, stimulation (ie toys), food and water. Some breeds have been bred over the years to be fine with being left (e.g guardian dogs). It's human behaviour that can stress the dog out more than being left.
If your going to be working research the breed that would be best suited to your needs thinking realistically about whether it can be left!Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25

I have some questions:
What dog do you have? 2 staffy x: Floyd (7 years old) and Daisy (7 months old)
Why did you get your dog? I grew up with dogs in the family but never was in a position to have one. Then OH gave up work due to health problems so we had the time, alongside the space and love.
Where did you get it? Both came from rescue kennels (though different ones)
What does it eat? Floyd: Wagg complete. Daisy: Chudley junior.
How much does it cost you weekly? Not sure - OH does the grocery shopping. Not a lot though - a few pounds a week.
Do you leave it alone? Only for a couple of hours at a time if we need to go out for any reason.
Work/holiday arrangements? Work: OH at home all the time. Holiday - local kennels or they come with us, depending on the type of holiday!
Do you do anything with it (agility/flyball etc)? KC Good citizen - Daisy has just finished Puppy class so starts Bronze tomorrow. Floyd is doing his gold. Would like to have a go @ agility with Daisy when she's a bit older. Lots of looooong walks in the countryside. Come to the farm whilst I sort the horse out. They sometimes accompany us when I'm doing an endurance (horse) ride - they stay in the car to keep my crew (either Mum or OH) company but it depends on whether dogs are welcome or not.

What does it eat? James Wellbeloved dry complete
How much does it cost you weekly? About £7 food, £6 obedience training, £6 insurance, sporadic amounts on toys (he mostly loves toilet roll inners and the next door balls that come over the fence)
Do you leave it alone? At the moment occational few hours at a time in hia cage.
Work/holiday arrangements? Have a dog sitter who takes him when we on holiday, and she will help out when OH goes back to work
Do you do anything with it (agility/flyball etc)? Just finished puppy training and starting obedience/ agility classes next week, very excited!
Unfortunatly rescue dogs are not always possible, OH wanted a biggish dog, but being small myself i needed to know i could control the dog from day one which a rescue dog could not garantee. I wouldn't change my smell pup for the world!Taking on the world one debt at a time!!!
