    I have some questions:

What dog do you have? A lab x rottie x great dane? (we think)

Why did you get your dog? We went to the dogs home and he was sat quietly with his fur poking out of the holes in the cage so that all the people visiting could stroke him.

Where did you get it? Birmingham Dogs Home

What does it eat? Wagg Dry Food plus treats (dentastix, choccy drops, chicken, cheese)

How much does it cost you weekly? about £5-10 including insurance

Do you leave it alone? Yes, when we go to work (but we work shifts so not on his own too long as each of us works different times. However if we have to leave him alone, he doesn't mind and just plays with his toys.

Work/holiday arrangements? Take him to a man who looks after him at home for £10 per 24hrs when on holiday.

Do you do anything with it (agility/flyball etc)? Walks, jogging (which he loves) and training to do tricks at home.

Anything else you'd like to say.
He hates other dogs which makes life a bit difficult. He is also very big, which I don't mind as I had owned big dogs as a child and so has my partner, however some people think the dog will be "bad" as they are big.

What dog do you have? Crossbreed called Mooch (or monkey or cheeky chops or maniac...) not sure what she's a cross of but we think she'd be classed as a lurcher as she definately has a hound in her.

Why did you get your dog? Me and the OH moved in together last summer and decided we were going to get a dog to keep us company.

Where did you get it? RSPCA rescue centre, went in on the way back from another rescue centre, fell in love, had a home check and brought her home the next week.

What does it eat? Anything and everything! She has just been changed onto James Wellbeloved as she appeared to have some food allergies as has been fine since. She also likes a bone or something to chew on particularly after she's just eaten.

How much does it cost you weekly? I'm not sure don't keep a check (very un MSE I know)

Do you leave it alone? She is left usually only for a maximum of about three or four hours but it could be more or less as my OH works shifts so is in and out at different times of the day to me.

Work/holiday arrangements? Left in the kitchen with lots of things to occupy her when left during the day. We usually go on holiday camping in the UK and plan to take her with us when we go. We are however going abroad this summer and she is staying with my OH's parents for the week which she will love as she will be spoilt.

Do you do anything with it (agility/flyball etc)? I would like to do agility with her but she is easily distracted so not sure how well that would go! She knows basic commands - sit, lie down, stay, please etc. Other than that she just loves to run around and chase balls but not bring them back.

Here is a picture of her cleaning herself (she loves drinking from taps!)-

    I have some questions:

What dog do you have? Dogue de Bordeaux

Why did you get your dog? I used to show/breed Chow Chow's and had pet Shar Pei but always wanted a Dogue after seeing Turner and Hooch

Where did you get it? Saw a jeep one day in Asda with a Dogue on their spare tyre cover and phone number. Rang it same night had pup within 2 days, infrequent breeders, are a show kennel, do it for love not money, just got lucky that they had a litter.

What does it eat? freshly cooked rice and mince, porridge, scrambled eggs and a tin of pilchards.

How much does it cost you weekly? 10.00

Do you leave it alone? yes, work full time.

Work/holiday arrangements? Kennels with good reputation and that are comfortable with a 11 stone animal.

Do you do anything with it (agility/flyball etc)? walking

Anything else you'd like to say.

What dog do you have? Cocker (male - 11 years) and Deerhound (female - 6 months)

Why did you get your dog? Friends had a cocker and they are full of life - always sniffing around and ferretting through the undergrowth. Been looking at Deerhounds for 3 years. Finally got one after seeing them again at Crufts and they are the perfect breed - very docile and elegant with an intriguing character.

Where did you get it? Both from breeders.

What does it eat? Cocker on Pedigree Chum tin + mixer. Deerhound on Arden Grange Puppy/Junior Large Breed.

How much does it cost you weekly? Probably about £10 per week (with food, insurance, treats etc).

Do you leave it alone? Sometimes. Deerhound tends to sleep most of the day and we feel very privileged if she comes to greet us when we return!! Cocker is always 'hyper' when we return, but Deerhound often likes to cleaverly disguise as a grey speed-hump around the house somewhere.

Work/holiday arrangements? Depends. Either leave at home or take to work. They both get long walks in the morning and the evening to wear them out. Holidays either with the parents or in kennels.

Do you do anything with it (agility/flyball etc)? Lots of walking in the countryside and fetch games.

Anything else you'd like to say. Anyone got the winning lottery numbers for next week that they want to share? I won't tell anyone else!!!

What dog do you have? 6 year old Lhasa Apso

Why did you get your dog? Have owned this breed in the past and we loved the breed and the nature of them.

Where did you get it? Bought from a breeder as we had to get this breed due to allergies (they have the closest hair type to humans and do not cast!)

What does it eat? Tinned dog food, mixer, chewsticks, mince and potatoes, curry anything we eat she wants!

How much does it cost you weekly? I think she only costs us about £4.00

Do you leave it alone? They are a sleepy breed and she likes her bed, we work full time and she is happy in the house on her own until we get home after work.

Work/holiday arrangements? Work arrangements as above, she goes to bed when we leave in the morning and crawls out when we come home...she really can be that lazy! We tend to holiday in UK so she goes everywhere with us. I could not bring myself to put her in kennels. If we need a dogsitter my my mum and dad are always glad to help....they love her.:D

Do you do anything with it (agility/flyball etc)? They don't need a lot of exercise but she is walked daily and gets a good run off the lead when we are enclosed.....she has no road sense and cannot be trusted off a lead next to a road.

I would have preferred to get a dog from a home but as we had to be sprecific about the type of dog we got we bought from a breeder...not a puppy farm I might add, we seen both the mother and father who were the family pets. We love our dog to bits and treat her like one of the family...prob better actually!

What does it eat? Beta Large breed dry puppy food

How much does it cost you weekly? Around £7pw inc treats etc (at the mo..hes only a puppy!)

Do you leave it alone? Yes

What dog do you have? an american cocker spaniel and a collie cross staffy

Why did you get your dog? partner has collie cross staffy from a pup, so when i got with him he was a part of his life. we then got american cocker spaniel as a friend (though the silly !!!!!!s dont play together lol)

Where did you get it? hubby got collie cross staff from a pet shop as a pup, american cocker spaniel we got from a rescue centre

What does it eat? they both have pedigree or winalot in a tin... aswell as dry biscuits out all the time. they get 2 bonios a day lol (1 when i get home from work cos theyve been good... 1 when we wake cos been good in the night)

How much does it cost you weekly? we dont budget naughty us, but will have to start now due to maternity leave starting in 2 weeks. but roughly i would say £10 a week max.

Do you leave it alone? at the moment they are left alone for 8 hours weekdays. they behave wonderfully and get tons of attention and excercise in the evenings. ill be home all the time from in 2 weeks time as on maternity.

Work/holiday arrangements? at work they stay at home. have run of kitchen and conservatory. when we go on holiday we book cottages that allow pets and take us with them. only time theyve been in a pet hotel was our wedding night and they didnt take too well to it.

Do you do anything with it (agility/flyball etc)? they do normal sit, lie commands etc. and both love swimming and playing catch.

Anything else you'd like to say. both wonderful dogs, but can both be little rebels when the mood suits them.
My baby boy is now 8 weeks old.
