I am finding some of these "tracing" suggestions extremely inventive and very funny :rotfl: . If ever I have any domestic [house/property] problems, I am definitely posting on here first.

Nelly - did you ask the env agency who picks up the tab?

    RB

I gave them the name of someone who wont be picking it up ;)

    Seriously though

They said who ever is causing the problem will be getting the bill.

I'd like to hope they give them say 7 days to sort it out themselves although that still leaves the cost of the camera trace which I belive can cost thousands!!!

Someone could have perfectly inocently bought a house, that the previous owner had done this. Or they could have put themselves a downstairs bog in dug up the drain by fluke and unwittingly plugged into it.

Its only that I have done drainage in the passed that I know there are rules on this. I suspect 90 odd percent of people wouldnt have a clue neither

And here we are, in the Darkest Bury, joining the Covert Culvert observation team. They have planted listening devices in all toilets within the vicinity, and will be noting the times of the flushes whilst monitoring any "leakage" from the drain. They have had to avoid the culvert cows, (one made a good Bar B Q snack) and have had a little paddle further upstream to freshen up......It appears we are in for a long one (?) so join us later in the week for an update.

On a serious note, they do "Culvert Cameras" that are explosion proof. They use them for the inspection of pipes round chemical works etc. They also are Internet enabled, so they can post a live feed on the web of the survey. If they do this, please provide the link!!!!

Nelly, is this on the right forum?

Wouldn't the "shopped em before they dropped em" board be more suitable.

could have been on "Grabbit" I suppose....

Don't worry, I'll ask for it to be moved to the "it's gone, but was it any good?" sub board!

Nelly - you are 100% sure that its not your ploppage you've been watching. I'd hate for you to get the bill for the camera work if it turned out it was your pipe that was the problem.

Sorry to dissapoint but the term explosion proof for equipment usually means that it won't cause an explosion in potentially explosive atmospheres and not that it can withstand an explosion.
