What is disgusting is the lack of speed with which the EA are dealing with this.
They have known that unfiltered waste is entering the river system and have done nothing to stop the problem.
I accept it could take time to source the culprit but in the mean time I would have expected some temporary action to stop the problem. At least the very least some technical sort of sieve contraption would prevent solid waste from entering the river. I thought these people are meant to care for the environment?I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. It's not that easy, Silvercar. Ideally yeah, we'd be able to clear up this immediately, but it's quite a complicated drainage issue. And things just don't move that fast, much as we'd like them to. Also, although domestic sewage going into a river isn't great, obviously, there are major pollution incidents going into rivers every day, from farm slurry, commercial and industrial waste etc. and those have to be tackled too. It's not that Nelly's poo isn't a priority, but it's just part of a whole ruck of stuff that has to be dealt with in order to help improve the environment.
And :T for Nelly too, (big up yourself Nelly Boy!) because a lot of people would leave this sort of thing unreported and then nothing would ever be done about it.0 -
Two weeks (or was it a lifetime) without an internet connection and guess which is the first place I come to!
When there's no news, can we just have regular updates and photos of the minutae of nelly's life please. I'd like to see pics of the drive when it's been filled back in and a picture of the UU man (when he turns up) taken covertly like you're Donal McIntyre or something.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Seems nothing is being done about it anyway.
Why can't you use portable units on a temporary basis?I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. In case you didn't know, nelly has managed to get himself banned/PPR'd. Again!
I'm not sure quite what was said but he was on the sauce at the time and it was to do with smoking (which incidentally kills).
Not sure if he'll be back either so he has asked me to post the odd update here and now although it won't be the same without the plonker.
Not sure how or why but he's spelling is pretty good via email.
Funny thing! Since last wednesday nothing has come down the pipe , maybe the offenders are on holliday or somert?
UU havent been in touch at all and the EA bloke is pretty disgusted but he doesnt want to bully them yet.
And another strage thing is the man hole that leads to the pipe seems to no long lead to the pipe, I might be wrong about that, but I sent some water down it and nowt came out but maybe it has an undulation in it and with the recent dry weather it needs to fill back up first???0 -
