Those little pipes don't look wide enough to carry even rain water from 100+ houses, are you sure that that outlet serves all those houses? I would have thought that your immediate neighbours also have similar outlets. Would this make it easier to track the culprit.

Thanks for the explaination of the drainage systems, I now appreciate why our guttering leads into the kitchen waste pipe. (At least I hope its all going down the sewage system rather than the kitchen waste joining the rainwater drains).

Incidentally, my culvert has been completely dry since we moved in, I think some neighbour has blocked it upstream or it is draining out through another neighbours pool (read glorified pond) drainage.

Just wanted to say 'thank you' all for giving me such a giggle! I was really down in the turds (sorry dumps) today but this has made my day happier!

i once had a blocked drain which i believed was solely for my own use and being a new FTB, had no money, so decided to have a go at unblocking it myself - being up to my shoulder in the brown stuff, i found myself dragging out toilet tissue which was not a colour i ever used .....:eek:_pale_ aaarrrgghhhhhh !!!!!!!!!
