Like others my Homebase payment was not taken out until last night, you'd think they would be able to stop a payment in a timely fashion wouldn't you?

Typical of Argos, they have even cancelled in contravention of their T&C's in that they state that they would give us the option to cancel, accept at the correct price or cancel if not contactable. Sent them e-mail to this effect and stated will not accept their cancellation nor pay a new price as I have already paid the price they asked for and they accepted my offer by taking the money from my account.
Not likely to get anywhere but nice to get it off ones chest.
Still no refund or cancellation homebase.
Next time I'll see if I can hide a deal like this in between other items, might confuse the system.

I hardly think they'd go bust over one !!!! up. Hoover lost £40million in the flights fiasco, and never went out of business!

Well I have just checked my account it has been showing up as reserved for the past few days. but they have taken the money today!!!! after sending me the email saying i would be refunded. Thats poor management in itself.
  • oh, and after a weekend of me keeping my money, they took it last night!

not that i expect to get a tv, but it's a bit ridiculous taking our money after sending out cancellation emails!

Just re-reading Dan Bates article here there's still a potential question mark over whether this was a special deal or not....

    Wow indeed

thats an interesting article as kodak were saying that cos payment hadnt been taken no contract had been formed but they paid out anyway. In the majority of cases here payment had been taken so i think a definate contract had been formed. But i think its not gonna work, would love it to but dont think it will.

I have sent them an email stating that i think they need a drastic review of their procedures as this is happening to many times with argos, and i read on another website, that if a company keeps having mis-prices then it is failing in its duty, as they need to provide adequate steps to stop them keep happening.
