In Homebase's case we have been sent 'acknowledgement of receipt of our orders' - not confirmation as in Dell's case - so we cannot claim that the contract is complete I don't think.

Or have you received a Confirmation as well?

I have printed my order confirmation from their site. I have spoken to a solicitor friend of mine today, who thinks this would be good enough proof for the order to stand, as they have confirmed this order!!

Also had the acknowledgment email, not confirmation!!

I only received acknowledge of order receipt, much like the majority of people. No payment taken as yet (checked with online bank) hence no confimation of order.

What does the confirmation order look like? Remember an aknowledge of order is just that, that they have the order. No contract has been entered yet until they have taken payment and confirmed despatch. Thats my understanding of it. Much like amazon take an order, process it, in stock then they take payment and confirm delivery. Obviously it all depends on how the database has been programmed to take payment, is it automated or does human intervention occur at the confirmation stage (at the warehouse) before despatch. Otherwise the orders we have placed will just sit there until someone processes it or cancels it.

What does the confirmation order look like?

When You ordered It and got to payment, the next page is order Confirmation.. You should have printed it off as proof!!
