The word "stolen" was used in a non-literal sense. Like calling a charge "daylight robbery".

Oh, I agree, but I also find that men who carp over a few pence not at all attractive. Tight fisted men who get up the energy to go and whine on an internet forum about being gypped out of less than ten pence (but can't find the energy to take up the constructive advice proffered in order to effect change) do not rate high on my list of attractive men.

Don't get me wrong; I'm not a gold digger by any means, but if my OH had exhibited this sort of behaviour over such a paltry sum, I doubt I'd have given him a second glance.
