    Got my email!

"Bush TV/DVD combi (Product No: 536/1108)

I refer to your order for the above product and thank you for placing an order with Argos.co.uk

Unfortunately there were was an accidental error on the price shown on our website for this product during 27th August causing the product to be advertised for £0.49 rather than the correct price of £349.99. This error has now been rectified and in accordance with Condition 4.2(b) of our Website terms and conditions I am writing to advise you of this problem.

We have therefore had to reject all orders placed at the incorrect price in accordance with Condition 2.3 of our Website terms and conditions and with regret we cannot accept your order.

On behalf of Argos I apologise for the inconvenience caused and can assure you that any charges debited to your payment card, will be fully refunded as soon as possible.

Thank you again for your custom with Argos.

    Yours faithfully,

    Mari-Ann Wiggin
    ARG Contact Centre Manager "

    As expected! Lol :D
  • I ordrered 3 lots of 5 televisions from homebase for friends / family.
My credit card was debited today twice for £7.40, the the third lot wasn't taken, even though I have 3 confirmation e-mails.
I have found some info here, it may or not be useful.

    http://www.consumerdirect.gov.uk/general/advertising/fs_p01.shtml

    it states, ironically

"However, a trader who mistakenly prices a product (for example, “28 inch widescreen television for £39.90” instead of £399) is not obliged to honour that price unless the transaction has already been completed. The trader must nevertheless take immediate steps to rectify the mistake."
  • Hey all, Newbie with bad grammer , so forgive me if i boob up, k :p

I went looking for a tv stand, and bought the bush tv, dvd and stand for £5:44 inclu del. lol well offers dont roll down hills like that very often :rotfl:

if you all read section 4 sub 4.4 on argos terms and conditions >> 4.4 Title to any products you order on this website shall pass to you on delivery of the products provided that we have processed and received payment in full for the products.

Me being me took my phone by the neck an rang Argos, and asked them why they had broken their own terms and conditions by not fully contacting people about this WOW great deal offer ;)) When the emails they had sent were a chickens way out. Sandra ( argos customer service advisor ) replied, sorry the emails are sent as standard. ect ect bull cough cough...

how ever They have done something far worse than just supposedly mis-print a price on a great deal, they have with held my previous order of £184:91 i made on 25th aug 05, stating they had an error on the payment section of the website. Funny how my banks told me the money went out perfectly fine,,,, lol By now im kinda >> cause i hate being lied to by !!!!!!! so i follwed through with :naughty: tut tut, you relise you have now comitted fraud on my account by gaining monies by deception thus misleading myself into bying my 2 daughters gameboy's for this chrimbo presents. With holding them as you are, for the sake of an order made before the tv one. You have much to learn Argos'son as pickle bows and > I can legally take you to court for stealing money out of my account, breaking a contract which is binding by yourselves, thorugh your own terms and conditions and as a trading company and i will have my tv thanks ;) and poor Sandra hung up on me :( hehehehehe!

OK.. I received my email cancelling my order this evening at 5.50pm.
No money had been taken. Checked online banking 5 minutes ago, they took my money after they cancelled my order!
    What now?

    Me too!

It will be interesting to see how quick they put the money back

Haven't decided whether to fire off an email to them, probably just get an automated reply like I did from Amazon, twice!
  • whilst I'd be the first to admit I'm no lawyer, the clause the email directs to reads -

    b) While we try and ensure that all prices on our website are accurate, errors may occur. If we discover an error in the price of goods you have ordered we will inform you as soon as possible and give you the option of reconfirming your order at the correct price or cancelling it. If we are unable to contact you we will treat the order as cancelled. If you cancel and you have already paid for the goods, you will receive a full refund.

By not giving us the opportunity to purchase the goods at the correct(ed) price and cancelling the orders straight away aren't they contravening their own T&Cs? So if that section of the agreement is no longer applicable, then there goes their get out clause.....
  • Still not got my cancellation email, so will live in hope. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
