Thank you i was trying to make sure the guy was on the correct service for fault finding .
To often the poor novice user is led from pillar to post by half a dozen blind nags who all offer bits of differing advice .

The actual check-list/work through for ADSL Max and the methods of improvement are relatively simple to carry out following a step by step checlist . Step one is define the service you signed up for not what you think you should have .

It has been obvious since the first post that it is ADSL max that we are talking about and it was stated in post #18.

Not wishing to intrude but, where have you got your router plugged in Polo?
I don't think anyone has suggested this yet but if you can/have one, unscrew the lower part of the faceplate off your master phone socket and plug your router into the test socket. This will eliminate extension wiring. Then re run your speed tests. You may need to leave everything plugged in like this for a while though.
Up to 8mbs is more fussy about internal phone wiring than the 2mb service.

    More info on this here.

Arrrr now thats something to think about. My main socket is down stairs...from which runs another socket to upstairs in the bedroom from which runs an extentsion into the computer room...hmmmm too much internal wiring?

But surely I should see some sort of increase even if it is minimul...not showing any change at the moment.

Your router stats would show this!

my stats are 8128/448 sync speed, and 2600/375 from your tester, so you need to check your sync speed from the router config screen, you could be connected at 8 meg already.
Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time?
