I've posted this journey Basildon to Brighton, via Bluewater, Maidstone, Tunbridge Wells here:

Bit of good news for anyone who uses this route.
I thought that it was one under serious threat.

We have used the Pateley Bridge to Harrogate service a couple of times this week. It takes just short of an hour, although at the moment it's taking slightly longer as there is a diversion on the route. It passes through the most beautiful scenery and gorgeous little villages. From Harrogate you can then catch the bus (a 20 minute service) to Ripon. About a half hour run, again through lovely scenery and pretty villages, including Ripley. I recommend you get off here to sample one of their world famous ice creams and catch the next bus onwards to Ripon!"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. Anyone remember that great site called 'Bus Pass Heaven'?
I've just tried to access it and both Internet Explorer and Firefox say it's virus-infected.
Just thought I'd warn anyone who might still have it in their 'bookmarks'.0 -
I had it in favourites, though not looked at it for months and months. Have now deleted just in case. Thanks."If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0

I live on the Isle of Man and have an Isle of Man OAP free bus pass but only for the Isle of Man. I am not able to use it anywhere in the UK as the IOM is not part of the UK. This also means that any one with a UK bus pass cannot use theirs here. I often see UK visitors here trying to use their UK bus pass and annoyed when they get turned down. I have to pay bus fares in UK and willingly do so so why the grumps from Visitors to my Island?0

But over-60's aren't necessarily 'wrinklies' are they ? Many won't even be eligible for a state pension yet and will still be in full time employment0 -

I suspect it is because many do not realise IOM is separate jurisdiction from UK mainland, no doubt same applies in Channel IslandsGardener’s pest is chef’s escargot0 -
