Now how do you get from Berwick to Lands End?
I would think that X5 four times an hour to Oxford from Milton Keynes, or even Cambridge might feature in the journey from Berwick to Lands End.
You could stop off in Buckingham and have a look round Stowe.

Not unless you want to go all round the ...... (Oh you would normally insert the name of the local worthwhile hill - but in Cambridge?)The only thing that is constant is change.0 -
Today I had a hospital appointment for an x-ray. In and out in 10 mins - job done. Tipping with rain so for a fleeting moment I toyed with getting a taxi home. I can afford it and it would have cost under £5. But I stuck to my principles and caught 2 buses, using my pass of course, and saving £1.60. Home within 30 mins. Not bad. Glow of satisfaction!0

I'm thinking of using my bus pass for a cheap holiday. I want to go camping because it's cheap to pitch a tent, but I don't want to carry it, too heavy. I thought it might be good to get a shopping trolley, put all my camping gear in it then the bus drivers would think I am a shopper and not charge me extra for baggage. I could go to Hull on the bus, then other places in Yorkshire from there. I would pick a place, get off and ask the locals where the camp site is. I would stay a few days till I got fed up, then get a bus to another place. Do you think this would work? It would be a really cheap holiday if I did my own food.

I think it will have to be a very big shopping trolley! :rotfl:
I'd go for the smallest tent (end to end when packed) I could get, and then buy a suitcase it would fit in.
But I don't think bus drivers normally turn you away if you've got luggage, like a suitcase or rucksack.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

I love the idea! No reason why it shouldn't work, and you can get to some great places from Hull. The people are really friendly too.0 -

If you go down this route, look at the Rolser brand which although not the cheapest are sturdy, light in weight, large wheels and large carrying capacity - probably avoid the "Mountain" model as the narrow top will reduce space for something as large as a sleeping bag or small tent.0
