You can get from Woking Station to Heathrow on the National Express Railair coach for free with an over 60 Bus pass. Just did it. So if you can get out of London to Heathrow you can then get to Woking and presumably to any of the other stations serviced by Railair. I know Reading is one. I'm just going to see if I can find out more.

This answer is given on FAQs on the Reading Railair website (http://www.railair.com/faqs.php?show=14):

    Q. Can I use my National Concessionary Bus Pass for free travel?
    A. RailAir is not classified as a local bus service and therefore free passes for over 60s or eligible disabled are not accepted. However, we do accept Senior or Disabled Railcards for discounted travel

(Railair to Reading is run by First, not by NE who run the Woking service)
  • Just come back from a holiday in North Wales.

Thought I'd just add a bit to this thread - it's gone dead lately.

Everyone must be out using their passes!

Just to note this post on another forum....

Although NE Funfares generally now start at £5, they have released 25,000 seats for travel in August and September at £1 single.

I discovered last week that the pass covers the park & ride in Shrewsbury. Don't know if it is the same with the park and ride operated in other city's
  • Halloo000000 - anybody out there. I was so enjoying our exchange of trips and now its gone dead.

Yes National Express is active again although I couldn't bag a cheapo for Newquay.

Now I have gone for some sun and I'm off with National Express/Eurlines to Spain, not your costas but Galicia. They have a great shellfish festival in October so I plumpt for that. NE goes door to door from London to Pontevedra for £150 return. Beats the nightmare of Gatwick or Heathrow at the moment. Will report on my return - who know - someone might be interested.
