 Can you also use the English bus passes in Wales, and vice versa. Wales have the same scheme?0

Hi
English bus passes can be used for a journey that runs into Wales and you can come back on a Welsh bus that terminates in England. But you canot use your pass for general journey's in England and we English cannot use our bus passes in Scotland or Wales.
For example when in Chester which is near the Welsh border you can get a bus into Wales but cannot get on another Welsh bus for free. You will pay.
You can get back to Chester for free if the bus you get starts in Wales and finishes in Chester.
Welsh and Scottish bus passes cannot be used in England.“Official Company Representative
I am the official company representative of buspassheaven. MSE has given permission for me to post in response to queries about the company, so that I can help solve issues. You can see my name on the companies with permission to post list. I am not allowed to tout for business at all. If you believe I am please report it to abuse@moneysavingexpert.com This does NOT imply any form of approval of my company or its products by MSE"0 -

Hi Honey Bea (love the NDP!).
This is another area where the answer is a yes/no/maybe! This whole scheme has more holes in it than a colander. The same question, of course, can be asked about Scotland.
It seems that different bus companies may treat the situation in different ways.
Certainly the English pass can be used on any section of a cross-border journey which is in England. On some journeys, the company will accept the pass for the whole journey as long as it starts or finishes in England.
The pass certainly cannot be used for any journeys wholly within Wales or Scotland.
If you want an answer for a particular journey, you will need to check with the bus company.
EDIT: You got in first Brimo. Just to clarify that I don't think all companies will let you cross the border. If you look at my post #132, you'll see that First Group have rejected the use of the pass on their cross-border route from Carlisle to Galashiels. (Although they will let it be used on their route from Berwick to Galashiels!!!)0 -

I think the 'Freeflow' system is only within the airport perimeter. The Hotel Hoppa buses go to hotels outside the airport.0 -

Hi EL.
I've opened another thread for all the links we've had posted in this thread. Given the interest in this topic and the number of 'hits', any chance it could be made a sticky?0 -

Most of the hotels are within (or on, to be more pedantic) the airport perimeter and can be reached for free on the non-Hoppa buses as well as the (non-free) Hoppas. There are some exceptions of course.0
