Does the .pdf have an unusual title the Google just might hone in on?0

Here you go, I just googled the National Express Registered Sections, should have done that before I tried to tidy up the first post
http://www.leytr.co.uk/Registered%20Sections.pdf
Actually it was quite interesting reading as I deleted the spaces as I'm having a day out in Bournemouth in December courtesy of 1p flight with Ryan Air so I now know the bus numbers for the area!0 -
To clarify then, all those routes which are registered are free? This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Yes - sometimes (well mainly) it's only part of the route. 'Registered' means registered as a 'local' bus service.
There is a catch though - you can't book (if you do you pay their normal reduced over 60 fare) and are effectively travelling standby.
And I can't help feeling nervous about every driver actually knowing the rules......0 -

Thanks for finding it again for me.
Surprising what a difference a letter makes - I was googling section rather than sections and found nothing useful!0 -

...and surprising that it pops up on the The Lincolnshire and East Yorkshire Transport Review site rather than the NEG one! Think they're trying to keep it from us???
Here's another interesting article on that site:

I suppose that's the same with any 'bus' service. If the bus is full, you've had it!0 -
I have now printed off both of the links below which have been provided as I am sure they will be of use to friends who are not "on the net". I'm particularly pleased to see the few lines ref National Express in the drivers guidelines and then the follow up with the sections of Nat/Exp which are free.
I'd urge anyone not to skip over these links but to read and digest and thanks again for making them available.

Hi ICE,
That was a challenge I couldn't pass up! But, as posted earlier it would take several days each way to do it completely free. Which would then cost on accommodation.
A far better way would be to go for Nat. Express funfares from Middlesbrough to London. They can be got for £5 or £7 each way. (Sometimes even a £1 fare pops up.)
So, here goes.....
Dep 08:45 Whitby Arriva X56
Arr 09:51 Middlesbrough Bus Station
Dep 09:55 Middlesbrough Bus Station Nat. Exp. 426
Arr 16:10 London Victoria
You'll notice two problems? Firstly, leaving before 09:30 from Whitby. So, you'd have to do it on a Sat. or Sun. These are times for a Sunday - giving the second problem, not much connection time at Middlesbrough!
Saturday would be easier - more early busses.
Return is also easier:
Dep 09:30 London Victoria Nat. Exp. 426
Arr 15:50 Middlesbrough Bus Station
Dep 16:15 Middlesbrough
Arr 17:52 Whitby.
These are obviously based on current timetables. December will be different.
there is also a 93 bus that runs between middlesbrough and whitby. that may give a better connection time.0 -
Well now, I think I've found a goldmine for all us oldies who use Heathrow (and to a lesser extent Gatwick)!
If you look at the end of the Registered Sections paper that 'dzug' and 'EL' found for us, you'll find a whole list of 'H' routes where the 'Complete Route' is registered.
It seems these are the Hotel Hoppa routes that usually cost £4 a journey!
(The G23 is something similar at Gatwick I believe.)
So, if these are classed as a 'local bus service', they are eligible for free travel!!!
Here they are.0 -
We, at www.buspassheaven.co.uk contacted National Express today re. the Registered Sections list and they have confirmed that the list is up-to-date and complete.
