did you do a search to see whether anyone else has tickets for sale, check what area they are listing them.
did you have your starting price too high, lower the price and put a reserve price, the reserve price costs extra but it sells for more than the reserve price, the extra lsiting cost you got charged will be refunded
did you add any pictures?
if you did, did you add gallery? (extra 15p)
if you didnt, put some in
if you would like to pm your ebay id, i could have a look at your adds, and give you more pointerssmile --- it makes people wonder what you are up to....

The Madonna tickets were selling well when I last placed a few bids, the only ones I saw that weren't selling as well were either overpriced, had unclear post and packing charges or didn't take paypal. Oh, there was also one, hope it wasn' t you, that took paypal and asked for a donation for the fees, it also carried an implied threat that paypal was expensive so if a voluntary donation towards fees wasn't paid it might mean it was cheaper to offer them to the second highest bidder! Absolutely incredible, although just checking my watch list that one now has an invalid number so ebay obviously got a lot of complaints and pulled it.
Anyway, I digress, if it isn't against the rules here (can a MOD please advise) then I agree with the earlier poster who suggests letting us have the auction number so we can see if there is anything glaringly 'wrong' with the listing. The only other thing I can think of is that the market has slowed down on ebay since the venue started to sell seats again (it's no longer a sell out).
Good luck though.

Sorry, I know its inpolite to follow up your own post..but I just checked ebay and see that there are a number of tickets selling with no bids. Obviously things ending at this time of the morning will not attract the bidders, but even some ending last night ended unsold.
The ones that are selling are either cheap, less than face value in most cases, or the sellers have very high all positive feedback.

I had some Madonna tickets for sale and they were appalling to get rid of, they ended up going at about half price.
I watched the auctions and the same thing was happening with all of the tickets unless you had them in the first 3 rows.
The tickets I had were premium and cost me about £150 each and thats all I got for the pair, that was after listing 3 times and then starting off at 99p just to get something back on them. There is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so.0 -
Apropos Gregory Little's comment regarding buying cars from eBay, I'm afraid he's completely wrong.
In my opinion eBay is the *best* place to buy a used car, provided you follow a number of guidelines.
Check the seller's feedback. 100% is ideal, obviously, 99.something should be ok, though check further, anything less be very careful.
Ask the seller any number of questions about the car. Put him or her on the spot and get the answers in writing.
Check the location. Do you really want to travel half the country to pick it up?
Then there are other obvious things, such as length of MOT, service history and so on.
Be thorough and you *will* get a bargain. I'd had a Toyota Carina for 20 years until last year and, as luck would have it (it doesn't happen very often!), I found an identical model, but younger, on eBay, asked all the right questions, got all the right answers and a year later haven't had a single problem. How much? £450!
It's not for nothing that eBay is the biggest seller of used cars in the country, I believe.

*Look out for people bidding on the same item as you are selling and email those bidders to let them know you are selling the same item also.
I gotta say this is against Ebay policy.....eBay policy prohibits members from sending spam. Spam is defined as email that is both unsolicited and is commercial in nature.
Unsolicited - The email must have been sent without the permission of the person who received it.
Commercial - The email must discuss buying, selling or trading of goods or services.
Some examples of spam include:
Unsolicited email offers for items that are the same or similar to items you are bidding on or have bid on in the past
Email sent to you from a mailing list without your permission.
Direct or stand-alone invitations to join a mailing list.
Email sent using the "Contact eBay Member" link on the eBay Web site to send unsolicited commercial offers.
for the full ebay policy on this matter it can be viewed here http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/policies/rfe-spam-general.html
Anyway I wanted to add some hints :P
*Host your photos of items on https://www.photobucket.com its FREE and also will save you costs on photos in your listings.
*watermark your pics, and insert a HTML code in your listing to prevent other sellers nicking your pics or description. (yes I know theres ways round it but at least it gives you some protection) ;D
*Use turbo lister its excellent and makes it easier for you to add your own hosted pics and play with HTML
*create an about ME page. Again if you know any code use it and make a nice attractive page.
*watch for zero bidders I know we all have to start somewhere but I have had problems with them in the past ::)0 -
has anyone got any tips on promoting/advertising your ebay auctions, i did have a link to my ebay auctions in my forum sig, but was asked to remove it by one of the mods. Now i've changed it to a link to a post on the referer board which links to my auctions, doubt anyone will bother to go through with all that rigmarole tho... oh well thems the rules....0

There's no point in trying to promote your ebay auctions as you are only reaching a small percentage of people whereas ebay have tens of thousands of people browsing. If people want to buy something on ebay then they will already be on there checking out the listings.
Also, virtually all newsgroups and boards take a dim view of advertising your ebay auctions as a sig so if in doubt, lose the sig.
If you are concerned that things are slow at the moment it is a usual August thing so don't worry, try again in a week or two. I don't usually list at all in the height of the summer although I have been tempted back with a few items on the 10p listing day today.

but isnt that a bit like saying that advertising things on the tv or on billboards is pointless, because if people want to buy something they will. In the real world advertising works, or they wouldnt be wasting so much money on it. Why shouldnt it work on the internet too? ;-)Also, virtually all newsgroups and boards take a dim view of advertising your ebay auctions as a sig so if in doubt, lose the sig.
I dont understand what the great aversion towards links to ebay auctions is all about, anyone care to explain? If you are concerned that things are slow at the moment it is a usual August thing so don't worry, try again in a week or two.
