No Joeys at our local Asda, sadly.

WRT the vouchers point, I used the self-scan at Middlebrook earlier this week, and I tried to use 3 vouchers totalling £4 (all different) on a shop worth around £20. This set alarms ringing and a lady had to come and reset the till and give me my vouchers back, as they are apparently programmed to accept only 10% of the value of the shopping. Very embarrassing, particularly at lunchtime and in the presence of various colleagues!! :o

Have managed to do this at Leyland though, without any problems.

  • Just need to give my opinion on this

In the end, all of this 'wrong price' hunt thread is going to cost someone somewhere....
Indirectly it affects the suppliers of the meat/goods etc. and also us the consumer
As with theft, someone has to pay..... it won't be tesco's... it will be the customer in the end who is affected

Households spend an awful amount less of their budget on food bills than they did years ago.....and Tesco's, asda, etc have the suppliers by the throat to cut prices to their lowest..... god food is cheap enough

Instead of putting efforts into this, which really does leave a bad taste in my mouth, we should be being much more positive, productive, and ethical approach to food shopping....for the good of us all

What about having a shelf ful of NON GM vegetables in Tesco's....now THAT is an issue worth campaigning for..... God only knows what this pile em high sell em cheap GM food will do to us in the end, of which Tesco's shelves are full...

    Cheers

'If a product is price marked and a different price is shown on the shelf then the lower price is taken.'

Taken from Tesco's pricing versus other supermarkets (on how the survey is conducted by the independent researchers), on my hunt for a defintive statement on coupons. I wonder if this explains the total incompetence of the labellers at managing to get so many products on the shelf prices wrong.

We might get stung for a couple of bits overcharged here and there, but we'll have some extra 'savings against ASDA' in the column people see when comparing the two. :p

Sure ASDA et al would be keen to here our views on mispricing, given that the shelf price if lower forms the price comparison against them. ;)

Is it OK for tesco to rip of customers by showing them one price but charging another?

Just MSE'ers are turning the tables a little and it is only a little. It will have no effect on the total sales of Tesco and therfore other customers, well no more than being overcharged anyway.
  • I love moneysaving and this site, and have saved a lot of money from this site, but morally I would never actively pursue searching for wrong prices. I feel that it sits v. uncomfortably with me. In new age speak, i guesss it is bad 'karma' lol

'tis my opinion only, and I fully expect comments as above....will not change my/ or yours whatsoever I guess

    Peace

I have cleared my local ASDA's shelf of JOEY cereal, over the past few days. Managed to use around 10 so far, on my overcharge shops, and have another 20 or so in 'stock'. No problem at all using them so far, not even a question, I am totally confused  but happy that they accept them, :j still don't understand what tesco's gains by letting me use them. I just hand over the voucher and cash/credit card and continue packing, and always choose the youngest, most carefree looking chap, (if I see one). Cereal ain't to bad either at 2 for 1.78. :T

Does anyone have an exact policy for vouchers, saw a thread yesterday, checkout lady from Mr T's, said they had been all told that exact policy which went along the lines of ...... 1/3 total spend allowed, vouchers can be used when don't buy product (one of each type (ie not 10 joeys)). Can't remember exact thread but she posted it fairly recently.

I find it a bit strange that I have had not problems at all yet others have been refused ??

Does anyone know what the stance would be on these if I went into Mr T's, and bought a PSP for £180, do you reckon I'd be able to use £60 worth of vouchers (or maybe even more). Has anyone ever bought non-grocery item and used a stack of vouchers.

Why would you want to pay £120 cash? If you've got them bung em the £180 in coupons I would!

Great spot on the Nivea guys. Nice to finally find something which us non-meat-eaters can enjoy as well!

I don't wish to alarm you unduly but lettuce does not need moisturising and this product is very unpalatable!

Have you stopped to think how much they would make overcharging you on that shelfull of non organic produce? They'd have a field day excuse the pun!

As for the fight to keep GM products out of the food chain that battle has already been lost forever irritrevably! The best you could hope for is limitation.
