Free Cinema Tickets - Discussion thread

I think some people are missing the point re comps going onto the ticket codes only thread. With codes there is a need to know as soon as possible, hence the email alert, as they are allocated very quickly. With competitions the time limit for entries varies, with usually a few days at least to enter. Surely its better to put the competitions on this thread as people can then read this thread when convenient and enter the competitions then.
Would it be possible to have the competitions listed on the first page of this thread to make it even easier for people?

Hear hear... I don't get cross when I receive a notification saying there's a competiton, but I do when there's a chat on that thread.

Or as others have suggested, have a separate films competition thread!

Definately would prefer a seperate competitions thread... I know people are only trying to help each other but I think Venezia has hit the nail on the head above with her post!

this is getting ridiculous - i really dont care if its a code or competition either way there's a chance of getting a ticket either by imputting a code first or winning a ticket. BUT 5 or 6 alerts on the code only thread from people to complain is crazy. vent your anger on this thread please just like me!!!!! if people dont respond then there will be no unnessecery alerts being sent out. Pm the op who has ticked you off is even more preferable. politeness/diplomacy costs nothing!!
now i shall get back to my code dance and hopefully a few codes will appear and not the rain!!

I don't mind if it's a competition or a code, it's all free cinema tickets! I would rather have a competiton appear on thread than the endless stream of posts telling something off for chatting, then someone tells them off for telling the previous poster off and so on.......:p

Just back from seeing The Ruins, I thought it was absolute rubbish and very predictable. 3/10 for me

Got it on DVD, not gonna waste my time going to cinema.

On a side note, SFF is BS these days - have they gone out of busines? or is this a bad patch?

Every FREE ticket i see these days is a damn competiton.

It'll be money well saved

It was all very impersonal, the bar had the atmosphere of a dental/doctors surgery and there were only 16 people in the screening, seemed such a waste of seats, not sure why they only offered 8 pairs of tickets, also not sure of the purpose of the screening, we weren't asked opinions at the end

I think codes are a little thin on the ground at the moment, not that many films coming out, and summer does tend to be a bit quiet on the ticket front, hopefully now I've said that a lot of codes will be released.

Enjoy......... err I mean endure the film
