Oh dear me - we all seem to be going a little bit crazy of late as to what is acceptable and not. Maybe it is the lack of codes that is sending us all out of our heads.......
I for one much prefer comps than mindless chat on the codes thread. At least with a comp you are in with a chance of seeing a film.......
Let's hope some codes come out soon and then people will stop moaning about insignificant differences.:j Member Number 18 of the "100 free films in London in 2010" club:hello:0 -
Well said destresserai... and if I see the phrase "sorry for the chat" on the codes thread once more I'll... I think you get my drift
:D

Free screenings are free screenings whether they are competitions or first come, first served. I don't think its fair to scold people for a technicality when they are taking the time to tell us about 'competitions'. (As we all say) i'm sorry for the chat - never bothered before but it takes two seconds to check this page then move on so it can't dent lives too much. There's not much we can do to stop it.
But anyhow, thanks to all who post the info. I've only posted a few myself but I think it'd be nice to keep a united feel here in this forum instead of a negative one thats so apparent. Aren't we doing each other favours? So whats the point.
Ok, I'm ready for the wrath....0 -
i dont mind the comps on the codes thread.
what is annoying is the number of replies telling them to not chat and then the replies to them saying we wasnt chatting ......0 -
Why doesn't someone make a separate thread for cinema competitions? Then the people who are interested in them can subscribe to that too and everyone's happy.0

No wrath from me, however i'm sorry, but as the thread title suggests, this thread is for "CODES ONLY"
Lots of people are subscribed to this thread and therefore get an e-mail to say there has been a response, so log on specially to see what the code / movie is, only to find out its not a code its a competition (which should be in the competitions section).
So pretty please.... no more discussion and no more competitions, codes only!!!
This is driving me demented!
I keep logging on, as we have had no free films in Dundee for months, to find yet more comments about competitions, disccusions on films and other irrelevant stuff...
Fully agree with MORPH3S- can we keep this for free film codes only! I've also messaged the forum advisor to get the rest of the stuff removed.
Will delete this shortly

Just got tickets for 'Female Agents' through a *competition* on the free codes page - as I said "competitions" where they have about 300 tickets to give away for an indivdual cinema are competitions that one has quite a high chance of winning! I would say that so far this year 40% of the free films I've gone to have been through competitions. So I really don't understand why people seem to suddenly be SO annoyed about it! As many have pointed out, there is a major lack of any codes at the moment, so it's good to have a chance to see some films, even if it is through a competition. Seeming the amount of people who continually ignore the 'no chat' policy, it seems slightly unfair to berate those posting competitions on the board, especially as a lot of people like and appreciate this.
I agree it might be an idea to have a seperate competitions board (although then I'd have to subscribe to two boards, and get two lots of notifcations of random chat ;0) if that's what people really want, but I'd rather keep the film competitions on a film dedicated board than have to wade through all the guff on the general comps board.0
