Returned from seeing Mongol at the Empire Leicester Square. The (admittedly rather small) screen was 98% full, and I give it 8/10. The landscape was amazing but after 2 hours I still wasn't sure how exactly he got to be so powerful - they concentrated on the early years and left that part out, LOL.

It's the first movie of a trilogy...
well the 2 others are still to be made, but the plan is a trilogy

since the movie i read more about him - different opinions in different countries - expert talking about the film etc.
it's quite interesting (on a lazy sunday)

Going to see Gone Baby Gone tonight -
14th free film of the year
    yeah baby :-)

Wow, gone baby gone! What a wonderful film. How did you feel about the end. I was really upset with him, but my friend said that it wasn't up to us to play God.
Getting there... A deal at a time. :T

The Vue West End was quite full, about 95% I would say. I was a bit bored in the first half hour, but it got better. And if you thought the guys from In Bruges swore a lot, think again. This lot made Gordon Ramsey look like a choir boy! It gets a 7/10 from me and 8/10 from the OH, so you can take down a 7.5/10. And without giving anything away, I am still wondering whether Casey Affleck's character did the right thing in the end. Well, yes I know he did, but somehow it did not feel quite right, if you know what I mean.

Fantastic film, I was kept interested all the way through, I agree with you about the end, won't say anymore in case I spoil it for anyone else. 9.5/10 for me

Would be great if we could compare opinions about the end when everyone has seen it.

I thought Gone, baby Gone, was an amazing film and highly thought provoking, hope it does well in the UK as it was really well crafted. As for the decision he made, it was such a moral dilemma but ultimately he really had no choice.
Just because your paranoid does not mean they are not out to get you ! :rotfl:

I was another Vue west end attendee!!
What a fantastic film making you question the characters interestingly and the tension was well strung. As for the ending I wanted to feel disappointed but ended up intially not knowing quite what to think! Crazy film, well worth seeing. 9/10.
Obviously not one for the kids, I don't know the guidance for the film (hey once you're over a certain age you don't need to bother but I would have thought it's an 18) but it appeared someone arrived late to the screening with a shorter companion who could have a been a child/ young teen.
