I can understand why this wasn't released when it was supposed to be last year. Every time they showed that picture I felt a chill. They look so similar. :(

Totally agree, I was actually at the leicester Vue screening tonight and that picture certainly made my spine tingle because the similarity is uncanny and by the looks on some other peoples faces in same cinema others had the same reaction, although i believe the film had been made quite a long time before.
Just because your paranoid does not mean they are not out to get you ! :rotfl:
  • Well I just Googled to find out for sure, but kinda knew just from the movie that Ben Affleck would be Catholic. For all the non-catholics out there, I don't think there was any doubt what Patrick would choose to do. He was always going to choose to support his community, his background, his people, whether they be good, bad, or !!!!less and beyond redemption like Leanne (but did you notice, amongst the body piercings and the tattoos, she still wore her crucifix?) It was a bit crude the way they made the bad guys so obviously non Irish-American; but that's a minor criticism.

Powerful movie, really intelligent stuff. I will be thinking about it for ages. And spookily prescient... the storyline managed to combine the main themes of discussion from not just one, but both of the most celebrated abduction tales about British children recently. Shannon Matthews was very firmly in my mind, as well as Madelaine McCann.

^^ I found that so weird. So many twists and turns... I can see myself thinking about this one for a while.

Looks like it has happened... I got an email offering me to subscribe to the SFF text thing, so they must have expanded it out of Manchester. I have no intention whatsoever of subscribing to this 'service', it sounds rubbish. Just hope this isn't the beginning of the end of free films.

I've not had an email yet, but, I also have no intention of subscribing, let's hope that the majority of people won't either. I can't see how this can be advantageous in any way, you could get texts for films you don't want to or can't see and could cost as much or possibly more than paying or using Orange Wednesday or similar. Bl**dy stupid idea

Morning all went to see Gone baby gone last night and what can I say... WOW what a film, compelling, thought provoking. I thought its twists and turns were well thought out, allright slightly predictable, my only minor critiscism was the accents, couldn't quite work out where they were supposed to be from, but that is a teeny tiny thing it what for me was a fantastic film. 9/10 for me all the way, an incredibly difficult subject matter dealt with well, hubby and I were discussing all the way home what decision we would have made. And yes the little girl was eerily similar. just as a footnote we were at the bluewater screening what an organisationally nightmare it was any one else who was there knows what I mean.
