I like Eric Bana just thought the CGI and the whole premise of the film was c*ap!!! I always wait with baited breath for comic book films (I am a saddo) but have never been as disapointed as I was with the Hulk.

See, I think Hulk was flawed but misunderstood....it was an intellectual film...but it really didn't have balance so everyone went home disappointed...
Too 'talky' for the kids, too much 'stomp-stomp' action for adults...
and in the end, it really wasn't what people were expecting...
Eric Bana was very good though, imo - in fact Spielberg cast him in Munich because of the humanity he brought to the Hulk

Anyway, GBG has scored a whopping average of 8.5 out of ten so far which makes it easily one of our favourites...

    OK ****SPOILER****

Cheese didn't ring the police. It was all a set up. You see that in the part where he's being interviewed for the shooting of Bressant. They say they don't keep record of phone convos... That's when he realised that Doyle was involved.
When he had that conversation with Bressant and was asked if he's shoot that guy again, he said no. I think shopping the kidnapping was his way at redemption.

I couldn't understand them either, but having been to Boston before and getting accidentally lost in a run down area, it was authentic.

Hulk... I saw the trailer for it, why is there so much CGI in use. They could make him look a little more realistic?

I'm really surprised that eveyone thought the film was great. I thought the plot was full of holes. It was winding me up all evening.

Cheese wouldn't've rung the police station when the offer of a bargain came from the Private Dectective, he would have rung his contact (the private detective). Drugs Dealers aren't keen on police and tend not to contact stations!

He was happy to shop Morgan Freeman and the rest for their crime of kidnap, but he didn't see fit to hand himself in for shooting the criminal in cold blood. As he's shopped Morgan, the police would have happily charged for the murder if he confessed. If he's got a strong moral code, that would have been his logical next step.

Finally, during the final scene when the child is living in squaller, and it is implied that the mother is going to leave the child on her own, yet again, he justs sits on the settee. If he's that moral, he'd be on the phone to social services.

I'm probably taking the film too seriously, my boyfriend said he's not taking me to a thriller again, if I keep picking holes in the plot!:rotfl:

I may have missed them but I have been keeping an eye on the free cinema tickets thread and hardly ever see any showings for Nottingham, perhaps 2 in the last 6 months?

Does anyone know why this might be or am I just mistaken??

The 2 cinemas we have are Cineworld and Showcase if that helps shed any light on it?!

    Thanks,

    Glyn

I would advise joining showcase insider, see top few threads in free cinema codes only, I have been offered 3 free screenings since joining it, admittedly this is for Coventry, but would expect it would be similar for Nottingham, but do not hold it against me if i am wrong.;)

I with destresserai on this perhaps spoilers could be written in white so they have to be highlightedto be seen, or it could ruin the film for others who have not been fortunate enough to see it. although I didn't really see the above points as flaws, I just have come to expect certain plot holes in films- don't even start me with Indiana Jones and the wrong era motorbikes etc.. sometimes you have to just bite your lip sit back & enjoy.;)

i just got back from wimbledon after seeing gone baby gone. it was good not sure on the accents either and casey affleck seemed a little wooden. a good film i'd rate it a 7/10. The ending is thought provoking you cant help thinking everybodies life was ruined for principals, but who can decide whats for the best? wimbledon was pretty full only the first row was empty.

Saw Gone baby gone and found it a really disturbing film especially compared to the rom coms seen lately. Hated the ending but could understand the reasoning. Its an excellent thought provoking film.

I agree with everyone about the accents in Gone Baby Gone, I was like 'eh?' in some bits! And sometimes it was difficult to follow the exact detail of what had happened. It didn't spoil it for me, but it is one of those films that I think you can watch a few times and listen for the detail to gain a better understanding.

I don't want to spoil it for anyone because I know there are probably quite a few who haven't seen it so I'll refrain from going into detail but I don't think there were major holes in the plot - the way I see it , when you are dealing with human behaviour, there are always going to be inconsistencies. Sometimes it seems like there is no logic to someone's action or inaction, particular circumstances lead to certain decisions which may not seem to be consistent and common sense is not so common! But it is good that this film has sparked off so much debate, definitely one of my favourites for the year.
