Saw this last night at Croydon. Very intelligent and thought provoking I thought.
An 8 out of 10 for me.:j Member Number 18 of the "100 free films in London in 2010" club:hello:0 -
I
Arghhhh, missed the Priceless screening for the Sunday, now I have to choose between seeing it on the 10th or The Hulk at the Imax!!
Would have to be the Hulk all the way for me- as long as its better than the last dismal effort:mad:Duct tape is like the force. It has a light side, a dark side, and it holds the world together."

I like Eric Bana just thought the CGI and the whole premise of the film was c*ap!!! I always wait with baited breath for comic book films (I am a saddo) but have never been as disapointed as I was with the Hulk.Duct tape is like the force. Gone Baby Gone - Sheffield Cineworld
Went last night to see this film, which we all thought was brilliant and as everyone else has said very thought provoking. It was a very powerful storyline which leaves you wondering and asking yourself questions. Was Morgan Freeman really the bad guy????? I thought Casey Affleck was totaly gorgeous and played an excellent part. To say it was Ben Afflecks first go at Directing I thought he did a fab job. I would rate this film 9.5/10. A shudder went down my spine when I saw the photo's in the film of the little girl who was abducted as the resemblence is incredible and I am still thinking about Madelaine McCann today. There is still hope!!!:grouphug: :grouphug:0 -

I must admit I could have done with some subtitles ...
I think it was good
What I really really liked were the people used - my god, such faces, bodies
no actors, i suppose they were real local people
nice change from the american dream
sometimes at the begining it felt more like a documentary than a movie
....
if you see what I mean
oh, for anyone who was at Edinburgh, what did you think of this poor young guy from Miramax (or whatever didn't quite get what he said) - he was quite nervous, bless him
not sure if he was waiting for feedback or something at the end, as he was outside at the door, counting people maybe ??0 -
I'm really surprised that eveyone thought the film was great. I thought the plot was full of holes. It was winding me up all evening.
Cheese wouldn't've rung the police station when the offer of a bargain came from the Private Dectective, he would have rung his contact (the private detective). Drugs Dealers aren't keen on police and tend not to contact stations!
He was happy to shop Morgan Freeman and the rest for their crime of kidnap, but he didn't see fit to hand himself in for shooting the criminal in cold blood. As he's shopped Morgan, the police would have happily charged for the murder if he confessed. If he's got a strong moral code, that would have been his logical next step.
Finally, during the final scene when the child is living in squaller, and it is implied that the mother is going to leave the child on her own, yet again, he justs sits on the settee. If he's that moral, he'd be on the phone to social services.
I'm probably taking the film too seriously, my boyfriend said he's not taking me to a thriller again, if I keep picking holes in the plot!:rotfl:0 -

No don't worry - your comments are quite right - although so many films have plot holes sometimes one has to try to forget them to enjoy the film
my friend hates it too when I start going like "but this is not possible and that bla bla bla"
i was not that much bothered in this case about that
i couldn't understand everything they said in the first place anyway
I was not a big fan on how the film was edited - it was using some very cliche shots, transition etc, the kind I do when I do films! but hey, they were not going to reinvent the wheel I suppose.
so I think the film is good, but I would not say great0 -
Um, you don't have to spoil it for other people, Vickiem!0

Vickiem, you could edit your post by adding something like
============ SPOILER AHEAD ==============
or changing the spoiler bit...0
