Isnt Tellten just SFF? They woudlnt let me sign up to Tellten cos I was already signed up???

Also what is FMUK? I tried a search engine and got nothing remotely linked to free film tix..

You may well say it's sour grapes but it just doesnt seem fair when some of the members here have in their sig files that they have seen over 20 or so free previews this year and some of us - not only me but a poster above too - can't seem to get any...

    yeah, sour grapes :D

anyway, just because we belong to the 104 film club doesnt mean we've even seen anything close to that. It's wishful thinking.

The estimate was conservative it seems Frosty. The poster that sprung to mind was Beattie whose sig file sindicates 63!!!! free previews seen this year or so far etc.
    What Would Bill Buchanan Do?
  • Yes, but if someone manages to get into all these free screenings, good for them. I've missed out on loads, of course, and some I could have got tickets for but had work, eg The Rocker, I am working the nights they're offering screenings. I am happy for those who can go and grateful when I can go. Why is it that even when it's free, people still complain?

Well I'm not a "104 member" but I've seen 82 free films this year so far with another 3 lined up by next Sunday.

Mind you I have access to 2 independent cinemas as well as 3 chains (Cineworld, Odeon & Showcase) in 2 cities making a total of 7 cinemas.

Also exchanging some local newspaper coupons (that I got for free - aren't paper recycling banks wonderful things :) ) at the start of the year allowed me to see EVERY film that was screened at the Odeon multiplex for a whole month.

To use all the vouchers at the very end I saw 2 films a day for 6 continuous days.

Some of us WORK VERY HARD to get all these freebies.

As for SFF codes, 99% of them are published in magazines for their readership to take advantage of and without MSE most people wouldn't be aware of them at all.
SFF mostly only send out codes in emails directly to members in the last day or so before a screening because there has been a low take up of all the other offer codes previously published elsewhere.

I haven't got anything close to that (>10) as I've been working between Dundee and London for the last few months and have had so much going on but I'm pleased to see you've been keeping at it. ;) Hope all is well.

Watched this last night at Cineworld in Sheffield!

Pretty packed in the screening and the film was top notch! Brad Pitt was hilarious in his role, great dancing......kinda!

    I'd give it 8.5 out of 10!

Funniest thing though was the poor sod who launched his nachos all over an unfortunate girl as he was trying to get pack to his seat! A valuable lesson learnt i I think - don't stack two trays of Nachos on top of each other! (if your reading this - I feel your pain - no one likes to see food go to waste like that!)
  • Hi all,

Can't make the preview tomorrow at the Wimbledon Odeon and have just returned my tickets, hope someone can nab them, seems like a brilliant film.

    :)
  • Saw this last night in Cardiff Cineworld. The cinema was full,I think some latecomers left as there were no seats anywhere.
Great film loved it, George Clooney did was he always does there but had no great impression,Brad Pitt was outstanding, but for me John Malkovich stole the show as Osborne Cox. Definitely recommend to anybody as a good laugh
Warning for those of a sensitive disposition high factor of F*** word from beginning to end.
    8 out 10

I'm more of the opinion that the TITLE of a previous post (#2162) is far more reflective of Burn AFTER Reading. If it was a book "Burn WITHOUT Reading" I'm sure would be more appropriate. (Was that a Freudian slip or was your subconscious telling you something ?)

Far too few jokes & laughs to be treated as a real comedy, black or otherwise. First 20 minutes or so was soooooo slooooow and rather boring, so much so that I was considering leaving. I think the underlaying humour throughout was irony, unfortunately (and ironic :rotfl: ) irony is not something Americans do very well.

Disappointing - only 5/10 - and 4 of these are for George Clooney's DIY workshop built leisure chair that gave the performance of the entire film.

I think there should be a new Oscar awarded for performances by inanimate objects - the chair gets it for this year.
