Pardon me Wolverine but it is for a crappy obscure film at a large cinema in an out of the way town with THREE preview showings. I would have thought I'd be able to get at least ONE ticket???

I'm not looking for "Burn After Reading" or something.,.. tho i'd love a freebie for it.

I'm also a member of several film goer sites. For the last year I have rarely been emailed at all for these freebies, occasionally they might email a day before a preview telling me about a full one  . So in an effort to find out where the freebies had gone......a google search brought up this site and now I go regularly again.

I am still a member of all these sites although whether I'm legitimately entitled to tickets aimed at readers of magazines that I don't read is a fuzzy grey area :o

Totally off your point, I signed up for tellten for the recent freebie and was offered a chance to join their premium text club costing £1.50 a text. The point of these freebies is so that ordinary people can preview these films and talk about them to their friends and family etc, by allowing tellten a shoe in to making money out of it, I feel, will spell the end of these films as freebies.

Despite being told that codes should not be posted on the internet in the same offer email (apparently they can't see why people would do this  ) I feel that at least we all get an equal pop at them rather than paying customers getting first dibs.

Good luck for the future in getting hold of tickets - I would recommend looking at hotukdeals and also subscribing to the cinema ticket (no chat) thread.

Just saw the date I registered so it must be getting on two years since I noticed the emails from momentum and seefilmfirst drying up - where do it go :D

    I've been Money Tipped!
I think I have only ever been emailed by SFF once about a film preview. I have belonged for about 2 years!

I am going to see Burn after Reading tomorrow and plan to get there at least an hour before the film starts as to me it seems as though enough tickets for 2 screens have been given away and I would be willing to bet it is only showing in 1 screen.

Twice lately I have seen people turned away from previews because they were full so I guess more tickets are given out than there are seats! Mind you I have also seen cinemas letting 4 people in on one ticket when it should only be 2 people.

What's the booking code? Do you have to be a subscriber to Culture+ to get into the screening?

    Thanks

You do have to register with the site and then wait until the code comes live midnight 11/10/2008

All completely true and accurate, I had previously registered with the site (http://www.screenbookings.com/) and I can navigate to the ticket booking screen, but ultimately the information you have given is not useful if no one tells us what the code is (or how to get it).

If you do not know what the code is (or how to get it) when your are making your post then perhaps you should mention that, otherwise people will try to make a booking without having all the information that they need.

I am afraid that you wil know the code from the paper, either online or from the actual paper or from us and for that you have to wait until the day it's announce, in other words the LIVE DATE.
If you stick around you'll see how it works.

  • Burn After Reading was a bit of a let down; the end didn't really go anywhere.
  • Anyone else get an email from TellTen requesting immediate feedback via text for Burn after Reading - with free merchandise for 10 lucky people? What I nearly missed on this email was that you will also be automatically added to the VIP list to receive text messages about future screenings - aren't they £1.50 a go?

    Sneaky fuggers! :)

I thought Burn After Reading was a great film, very funny! But not in the obvious hollywood comedy way! in the strange Fargo way!!

I recommend all to go and see it!!

Isnt Tellten just SFF? They woudlnt let me sign up to Tellten cos I was already signed up???

Also what is FMUK? I tried a search engine and got nothing remotely linked to free film tix..

You may well say it's sour grapes but it just doesnt seem fair when some of the members here have in their sig files that they have seen over 20 or so free previews this year and some of us - not only me but a poster above too - can't seem to get any...
