ive had to give up my home with kids, we now moving into rented. i work but dont earn enough so will have to use 50k to live till it runs out,
Do you get housing benefit, or do you expect to get it?
If so, check the rules about capital deprivation. If you spend the money on random stuff, housing benefit rules mean that you are still counted as having the money, you can't just blow it.
Couldn't you get a job? That way, you can keep your £50k and live off income?...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

Could you work longer hours by working from home? The internet gives numerous opportunities (some much better than others!) to make an income from home.0

I would stick it in a hgh earnings account and the evaluate things down the line.
Other than that, 50k seems to have been the "price" (debt written off) paid to a premiership football to get a red card and to ask 3 of his teammates to get yellowcarded so you could always look into becoming a bookie! I've heard some will see red for a tenner so they can collect their wages and sit in the stands for 3 weeks. After posting about receiving an email to my MSE username/email from 'Money Expert' (note the use of ' '), I am now unable to post on MSE. Such is life.0 -

Only £33k

But I've heard you can't get a mortgage in that neck of the woods as the big surveyor chappies daren't go to that area to value anything... because they're scared.
Looks nice enough though.
So, ideal for a cash buyer0 -

Or what about an auction property in the same place?
Guide price ...... £5,800
Yes. £5,800

Or you could wait until after the crash and pick up the whole road for that.0
