Hi Elle Thanks for all the great info,

This is our first time to Playa Blanca, Lanzarote. We are going 1st of June for 2 weeks staying in Las Brisas. We cant wait with our 2 yr old.

My wife and I are vegetarian - What are the restaurants like for vegetarians?

Also we arrive on Sunday 4pm are the supermarkets open then?

    Thank you

    HI hitenk108!

The Spanish still have a way to go to be completely au fait with vegetarianism. But you will find that the staff will be very flexible with you. We have loads of veggie pals and they have no problems. Go careful when ordering soups though, as although it may say it's veggie, it is often cooked using meat bones. Steer clear of lentil dishes without checking, for the same reason.

If you're getting out of the resort - there's a fab veggie restaurant in Old Town, Puerto del Carmen too.

There is a Spar quite near where you are staying that will be open when you arrive.

    Have fun!

    Elle xx

    Hi Amanda.
You can cope without a car if you are staying just in the resort as your villa is only a 10 - 12 minute walk from the town centre. However, if you fancy some excursions or doing a bit of exploring, then a car is great for that. Not sure if your airport transfers are already paid for... but if not then the price of a hire car from the airport for a week isn't that much more than a private transfer anyway.

As for places to eat and drink - do read through the thread as there are loads of recommendations already here... not just from me but from others too.

    Have a great time! xxx

Hi Elle, we are a big group going to lanzarote for new year and are trying to book tables for New Year's Eve in restaurant that was called almacen de la sal, but can't get any answer from their phone. Do you know if it is still there? We went there about 5 years ago x

    I'm sorry love - it's a goner! Chinese eatery now I think.
Try La Chalanita which is just up from there - the two head waiters from Almacen de La Sal opened that themselves around the time you would have last been. But do be quick - I think they're already full for Christmas Day, so New Years Eve may be the same.

    Hi Raven!
Yeah.. still happy to help. Not sure if you've seen in the comments above, but we have left PB and now live in Andalucia... but still retain very strong ties with the Island. Good luck with the holiday planning!
