Go back to the ESTA site with your reference number...choose the option on the right to update or check status...put in the info required and it will give you the info you need. They don't send emails or notices of any kind.

Done, thankyou. Will print the page out.

    Hi All

Quick question about the ESTA, apologies if this has been asked numerous times before....

My wife and I traveled to New York and Las Vegas in October this year and completed the ESTA with no problems

I am travelling alone to Las Vegas next week, do I need to re-apply or does the original application allow me entry?

    Many thanks in advance

The ESTA is valid for two years, so you won't need to reapply until that two year period is up. Strictly speaking you should update it with your new details, flight number, address of first night's accomodation etc

Everything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the end

    He is definately NOT ok.

This caution would have happened after an arrest.

Cautions also rely on the fact you ADMIT the offense, they cannot be given if you deny it. So you have admitted violating the law.

He was also cautioned for half a gram of cocaine, getting a waiver for that will be hard.

It will appear on their record, it might seem expediant to accept a caution but it has other implications as well regarding declarations on travel, car, house and medical insurance.

Also remember that the Americans don't ignore spent convictions ever etc, so it is probably worth the aggro of sorting out a visa even if he can't go now to eliminate any future trip hazards.

He might find issues with Austrailia, NZ, Japan and any number of other countries.

Unless you renew your passport first.

Your ESTA is valid for two years , OR up to the date of passport renewal.

There is no requirement to ever give this data.

    Yes,

Does a traveler ever need to reapply for a travel authorization through ESTA?
Yes, there may be instances when a new travel authorization via ESTA would be required. A new travel authorization may be required in any of the following circumstances:
    • The traveler is issued a new passport
    • The traveler changes his or her name
    • The traveler changes his or her gender
    • The traveler’s country of citizenship changes; or
    • The circumstances underlying the traveler’s previous responses to any of the ESTA application questions requiring a “yes” or “no” response have changed.
Travel authorization approvals will typically be granted for a period of two years or until the applicant’s passport expires, whichever is sooner. ESTA will provide validity dates upon approval of the application. Therefore, a traveler must apply for a new travel authorization when a prior ESTA authorization or an applicant’s passport expires. The associated fee will be charged for each new application submitted.

    Not mandatory at the moment

Don’t know the US destination address or flight details yet?

ESTA applications can still be made without a full address and flights. In the short term flight details are not required and a generic address only will suffice. E.g. City and State. Applicants should register full address & flight details once known.
    Repeat Visits? Change of Itinerary?

Updating ESTA data for repeat visits within the 2 year ESTA duration is recommended but is not mandatory. I.e. Upon entry into the USA, the Customs and Border Protection Officer may ask additional questions if a traveller’s current itinerary differs from information submitted in the ESTA application. Updating ESTA with new arrival and first night’s stay data could save time at the point of entry and result in fewer questions.

Decided to check my ESTA status today. I applied just before the cut-off for free applications.

Typed in my reference number, and got no application found.

Tried searching for my application number by passport number and personal details. Again nothing found.

After cursing the entire country and swearing out loud, I decided that I had to bite the bullet and buy the bloody thing.

Halfway through the application the bloody website says that an existing ESTA is already on their database, and proceeding from here would cancel it and I would be charged.

So I canceled the new application, but still can't access the old one.

    What should I do?
