Well, I remembered the deadline for the ESTA and applied on the 7th. However, I got mixed up on the dates for the reduction in Airmiles with Tesco vouchers and missed that one. So, you win some, you lose some, I guess.

Hoping it is authorised in the next 72 hours.
hi - Just catching up with this. Can I ask, was it authorised in the time period? Has this happened to others? Very worrying to see this. Thanks

:j Thanks it was a very worrying 6 days !!!! before it was authorised, it just kept saying pending, at least saying that it kept my mind thinking he hasn't been refused yet. A relief to log in to check and find 'authorised' Maybe they were busy with a lot of applications and he resembled a dodgy person;) so needed further checking.
A few people I spoke to said they had the first 4 authorised but 5th one they put through said pending, maybe they can't cope with 5 going through one after the other. There all were authorised in the 72 hours though.

Considering this is a surprise holiday I didn't know how I was going to explain to the older girls why I needed to take their brother down to London if we had had to apply for a visa.
Can't wait now 146 days to go - not that i'm counting:D Really must update my signature
Thanks to MSE savings we got to go to Disneyworld Florida.

I googled and found Westland Securities, who appear to be a UK-based company offering ESTA online applications.

How do we know if they're genuine or not? Just putting a USA flag graphic on the homepage is no guarantee......

Its a total scam, they charge £25 for an application (Rather than the offical $14).

Why give these people your money, just use the offical US site.

    Its also highly inaccurate

Key Things You Ought To Know (but we don't either)

Everyone going to the USA needs to fill out an ESTA form

Unless you have a visa that is

If your ESTA application is rejected for what ever reason you will be charged a further $4 for re-applying

No, you would be charged $4 for the refused one

Do not risk travelling without an ESTA. If you haven't completed the ESTA before travelling or you did but were declined (sometimes due to mistakes on the application) you will be stopped from entering the US and sent back home, at your own expense.

You wouldn't even be able to get on the plane, let alone sent back. And the airline is responsible for the cost of returning you.

That's what I'm asking. Why them, or who are they?

    Where's the official site?
